Harry Kane

I can't see Spurs selling him now as it would mean a massive loss of face for Levy and an admission of an error of judgement.
You forgotten Antonio Conte has just entered the house?

Levy will have to do as Conte wants and if that means selling Keane, Son and Chas and Dave it will be done.

This is the single most bizarre thread in the history of the Transfer Forum imo. I think it's clear we tried to sign Kane and it's clear that he wanted to come. It's also clear he's a top quality striker with an eye for goal. Yet poster after poster wants to criticise/insult/belittle Kane, despite the possibility that we could still be in for him. Very strange.
The transfer forum seems to do weird things to people where they completely lose rational thought. We actually had posters calling our board incompetent during the summer just because we didn’t sign a striker, when rational would actually say all of our board are the definition of competent

Very very strange indeed

The Kane hate on here really puzzles me. He's clearly a very, very good striker.

If I was looking for a medium mileage Ferrari and you quoted me a stupid price, I wouldn't want to buy it. But I'd still love the car. And, if the price became cheap, I'd reconsider. If we could get Kane for 40-50 million quid, for arguments sake, how many out there would still not want him at City?
I take your point bit I'm not sure that the bulk of said comments can be defined as 'hate'. In fairness, it's reasonable to consider that one of the consequences of signing Kane might be to place the likelihood of a move for anyone else in the immediate future in jeopardy. Also (and this applies equally to Haaland), Pep's management ethos is that all players bend to his will in terms of the team's footballing style. I think it's fair to question whether Kane is ideally suited to the Pep way given that, to date, he's been deployed as a traditional target man.

Not fair to question, as apparently it was Pep that most wanted Kane, then it's safe to assume he suits the way Pep wants to play.

We had Pep outers at the start of last season too mate...fuckin weirdos

I wouldn't be against Kane coming to City, he's good at linking up play he has an eye for a pass, I mean how many goals has he set up for Son. Even Sterling could be rejuvenated with Kane in the team. I know it was only Albania but he scored 3 good goals, give him space in the goal area and he will score

Uprisings and turmoil. It's in our DNA.

we have players that can do the intricate one touch passing and its beautiful to watch and i wouldnt want it changed . But sometimes we just need a player that runs direct at a defence ,with pace, with the ball. We have the ability to move a defence around and create space for that type of player. Somebody mentioned Haaland doesn't score many headers that maybe true, but we are a side that doesnt put that many "headable" crosses in either, something that Kane would suffer from as well.
Haaland in sky blue bearing down on goal is something i would like to see, and i am sure not many prem defenders would !

If the boys had somebody to aim at, they are more than capable of finding a striker who is good in the air. We don’t currently do that because our forwards are all vertically challenged.

Why can't we just spend about half as much on Vlahovic. Kane is injury prone, slower than DV, older than DV and not exactly knocking them in at present. Oh, he scored 3 vs Albania... I stand corrected.
Kane has missed nearly 40 games through injury. Haaland nearly 30, in a much shorter career to date.
I know bugger all about Vlahovic. Are you sure Kane is the injury prone one?
