People keep saying Spurs are in a bad financial situation and can’t refuse the money. Lukaku has been at Inter for two, not one year, and reportedly was very happy there, didn’t want to leave and Inter didn’t want to let him go if not the right amount of money. I didn’t say they are smarter, but they handled signing their target in a smarter way. Presented the money required at the right time and will have him sooner. How many times did you read on this thread that the Kane deal would get done before the Euros, and once the Euros started the conversation quickly changed to “right after the Euros”, and now we’re hearing we’re prepared for this to last until the final hours of the transfer window?!Inter are desperate for the money and spurs aren’t , Lukaku has been there a year, Kane has been there all his career it isn’t the same not even similar. They aren’t smarter.
Wasn't aware he was married and certainly not that he's got a child?????His wife and child are in Spain and have been for well over a year. I think that`s enough reason on it`s own without the isolation of it during COVID.
I noticed and think it’s a great thing. ;) I’ll still make sure to make my counterpoints to the broader conversationThink you’re on his ignore-list.
Right now I don’t agree Haaland is better than Kane.
I don’t trust what I see as I don’t see enough so I look at the data the same as City will do as part of their analysis.
One of the most important stats is the difference between Actual Goals and Expected Goals. Right now..
1. Messi
2. Kane
Also Kane creates more than Haaland and fits how we play better which is why Pep prefers him for City.
I think Haaland will be a better Striker than Kane ever was in the future but that is a guess and City want the best now while Pep is still here.
Then we get to the fact that Haaland isn’t going anywhere this window and anyone that tries will fall foul of FFP. I can see a bidding war next year for both fee and wages despite the buyout clause. His agent will insist on another buy out clause so he can repeat the same trick over and over. His agent and his father also want to get paid huge bucks over and over too.
All in all Haaland comes with loads of baggage. To contradict myself in terms of not believing what I see I think Haaland looks a generational talent and I’d love to see him here but when we played Dortmund he hardly touched the ball and it was Bellingham that shone.
Everything taken into consideration right now and, living in the real World, Kane is a better bet than Haaland. Not as exciting true but still better and, if this is also @BillyShears point, then I have to agree with him.
He plays for Dortmund, Kane plays for Spurs. Context also matters. Dortmund are the only team capable of giving Bayern a title challenge, Spurs don't have that luxury, winning a league cup equivalent also doesn't make him better than Kane. He also plays in Bundesliga, league popular for making strikers look way better than they are. Remember Paco Alcacer? Bas Dost? Yeah. He's quality but I'd rather not overrate him just yet. Let him move to one of the big boys and show his worth, then we'll know if he's generational. Casually throwing that is a bit wild.Well he already has won a title last season scoring in the final against a better team. More than Kane. Has also achieved records that are beyond impressive for his age. He isn’t the finished article, but like Mbappe at Monaco, even a fool could see what was going to happen.
You don’t know that. In fact journalists who people on this forum take as being very well informed said we were. We also were linked with other strikers last summer. It wasn’t jusy Kane. We were linked with Haaland over a year ago already. Think all you want that Kane has been “the one all along”. This isn’t what the evidence shows. I am more willing to buy the theory that he has been more seriously considered this time for “having chosen us” or whatever. That at least make more senseThis is our second year in a row targeting Kane for transfer. If we wanted Haaland then we would have gone for him. We've never gone for him.
