Harry Kane

So if Kane did sign how do you think the team will be set up? He does a good job for Spurs dropping deep and finding runners (normally Son) but I cannot see him doing that for City as that would conflict with the areas that our dual 8's do their best work not to mention inverted wingers coming in-field.

The fact that Sterling was reportedly offered as a swap also seems to preclude that as he would be the natural runner to play the Son role (if only he was as good in 1-v-1 situations).

I am sure that Pep and co. would know exactly how they would use him however that is I think we would see a big change in the way we play.

Other strikers have scored more goals than him, 3 out of the last 4 seasons. or 5 of the 7 in total he has been playing top level.

He is certainly amongst the top. For 100m+, bit of a stretch.

He‘s always in the top 3 or 4 every season though, so even if he gets a couple of goals fewer than the top scorer it still means he‘s consistently a great goalscorer which is what we currently lack.

He only plays that way at Spurs because of Mourinho. He was the focal point to start counter attacks, but we don't play like Mourinho's teams. Kane would probably only drop deep when teams high press, but all our strikers do this regardless. Aguero and Jesus drop back to be an extra man to help progress the ball.
If teams aren't pressing high and put on a low block there is no reason for him to drop deep he can be on the position a striker would be in the final 3rd.

I think these England showings have displayed that with Kane there'd always be certain issues. Although at the same time, the eagerness by some to dismiss him does come off as arrogant.

I could probably say the same about Lukaku tbf.

I'm going to be incredibly dull and say this. If the club are making a big money move for Kane (or whoever), I'll assume that this player is very good, and more than good enough for City's ambitions.
