Harry Kane

They've not really covered themselves in glory on Bluemoon have they? It's such a weird flex to be such a nothing club, run by such a nothing man, and to come on a forum of the champions and give it the big one about how they're gonna make loadsa money from selling Kane or they'll keep him whether he likes it or not.

Like literally, neither of those things is good. You're club is fucked and Kane's dragging it through the mud, but you want to act like you're in control. It's a funny delusion I guess.

That's them to a T though, isn't it? It's a curious feature of the London clubs that particular personality traits seem to typify the different clubs. With West Ham, for instance, you get that very dark sense of humour that is so very close to our own. If they won the lottery like we did, I don't think they would be very different from the way they are now. With Millwall you get that 'we know you don't like us, we don't give a fuck' attitude. That's the attitude that when knife wielding terrorists start rampaging across London Bridge one of them says 'Fuck you, I'm Millwall' and gets stuck in. With Fulham you get nice guys for whom you sense football comes a fair way down their list of things that are important in life. With Arsenal you used to have that Millwallish 'us against the world' which seems to have been replaced by a bunch of morally outraged forensic accountants.

With Spurs you tend to get this sense of entitlement, that when they're on top they're smug and arrogant - 'we're Spurs and you're shit' - and when they're not on top it's because there is something wrong with the game, or everyone else is cheating, or the world is generally upside down. You never got that from Arsenal even in the invincibles season nor did you ever get it from Chelsea.

And based on what? When was the glory period when Spurs swept all before them, like the rags in the 90s or Liverpool in the 80s or (dare I say it) us in the last 10 years?

Strange bunch. As you say, strange delusion.

Yep.

How does this help City close the deal?
Wow! This is really hard work.

It doesn’t. I was originally responding to yours and to be fair another Spurs fan poster who was asking for evidence of a gentleman’s agreement. Asking for evidence of a gentleman’s agreement is daft. There isn’t evidence otherwise it would cease to be a gentleman’s agreement and become a written contract. Also, there’s no point in being snide, you’re probably not a financial advisor but you know what a fucking mortgage is.

Just to be 100% clear with you. I don’t give a fuck if Kane stays at Spurs or comes to us. I was merely commenting on the gentleman’s agreement bit. That’s the bit that should concern you as a Spurs fan. Whether there is or isn’t one, neither you or me know. But Harry Kane does and if he feels wronged it should concern YOU and SPURS. I don’t care, it’s not our problem, it’s yours.

Fwiw I think Harry and his bro were stupid to sign a deal without a release clause. It’s not like Levy doesn’t have a reputation or anything. If there was a proper release clause at least the decision to stay or go would be Harry Kane’s. So on that score I have no sympathy for the guy.

City made a bid. It’s not enough for Levy. Harry expected him to accept the bid. It’s a stalemate. I‘m sure Kane will be professional (eventually). But I doubt he’ll be skipping off into the distance holding hands with Levy. If you think that’s a recipe for success, then all power to you and Spurs. Enjoy your season.

If you're interested in talking to a Spurs supporter who is doing his best to belittle you and the club you support whilst you suck up to him that's your business.
I don't have your contacts so all I see are the public positions and as far as I see it Spurs have not moved an inch. I would love to be wrong.

No, no. You've got this all WRONG mate. Spurs are definitely in control. Their best player is on strike, their new manager hasn't spoken to him, the squad is in need of improvement in several areas, the season starts next weekend and they have no clarity on what their squad is going to look like - but Levy is IN CONTROL. Nothing to see here at all.

Kane has been badly advised. Hardly surprising. Charlie does not inspire confidence.

A six year contract and yet he wants to leave. Why?
Briefing the media that he is going without having a deal in place. Why?
Going to war with Levy when you need him to do you a favour. Why?

City may be trying to get to a win/win situation with Spurs but Kane is definitely not doing that with Levy.

And that is a problem.
Kane wants to leave therefore his actions are understandable but I am seeing zero movement. City had leverage over Grealish. We have leverage over Kane, but that gives us only weak and indirect leverage over Levy.

If Spurs start to make enquiries over centre-forwards I shall start getting excited otherwise I am assuming that this has stalled. This does not mean I accept your arguments, I am just simply commenting that the transfer seems stuck

Wonder if pep will go for the ‘Kane is not our player I don’t want to talk about him’ or the more common ‘no we cannot afford Kane we have unbelievable options already’ option today at 1:30?

Do you think this is a good look for Spurs? If talented young players feel any future dream moves will be blocked they might not join Spurs in the first place. Why go there when you can join a similar club (in terms of budget) such as Leicester, Dortmund or Sevilla knowing they’ll let you move on if a reasonable bid is made.

Fucked up the Olympic stadium deal? Please explain.

By the way, Spurs don’t lose many players at all. And those that do leave only leave for the richest, most successful clubs.

Umm……..not sure you read my post properly. Where did I claim that Spurs currently are rivalling City? You’re imagining it.

The discussion is about the supposed substance of this gentleman’s agreement. And the claim is that Levy agreed to allow Kane to leave should Spurs not look like competing got honours. I have no problem in conceding that that is now the case.

But that is only one side of the agreement. The other is that another club must pay the asking price. And until that happens, Levy is not honour bound to allow Kane to leave. To which end, contrary to the narrative on here, the only person who appears to be breaking the agreement is Kane.
Why are you defending Levy? He and Lewis are taking the piss out of Spurs fans.

What is the point in spurs though? Levy has only financial ambition, your best player wants out, and you are just a blockage that stops the likes of Everton , Arsenal and Villa getting European football.
The silly demands for £150m are ruining the game by inflating the market.

Tottenham have already bid 50m on Vlahovic.

Where exactly are we with all this? I mean, have City actually put in a bid for Kane? There's been a lot of talk about the two clubs being £40 million apart in their valuations but until City make a concrete offer there's nothing for Levy/Spurs to move an inch from.
