Harry Kane

posted this in the haaland thread by mistake.

i described him as the modern day shearer.

I think it makes more sense when you view this alongside all his assists, which he was also the highest in the leage last year. Replace Son with Kev, Foden, Gundogan, and Mahrez as runners. A traditional number 9 who can also operate as a false 9.

Someone else suggested Lukaku and I wouldn't be against that, also that lad from Leeds could be the answer.
Bamford? He's had a good year, but He'll never be a top class player. Certainly not good enough to play regularly in a top 6 side.
He's destined to be a journeyman, like Ings, Crouch, etc. A pretty good living if you can get it!

If we have put abid in of £100m for Kane,
and as some say its been rejected.
Why not put in an Official offer of £100m for Haaland and see what Dortmund have to say, you never know we might get a surprise

that's what the reports in the media ?
if kane was a man city players how much would we want for him ? before covid-19 players like kane would have been £200 million

The situation is the situation, doesn’t matter what prices may have been pre-COVID or if he played for us. Obviously that excludes if you’re Woodward of course ;)

The reports in the media last night were bonkers. “City have offered £100m package and if that doesn’t tempt Levy City will add a player”, So Levy are you tempted? Erm no mate I’ll have the £100m plus a player. BBC saying earlier no offer has been made but one is expected, which I’m inclined to think more likely, rest is speculative nonsense.

Because I think Haaland is a generational talent and whoever signs him will be a bigger threat to us winning silverware. If it`s Chelsea, Liverpool or United we are going to struggle to dominate the domestic competitions we have been so prolific in winning.

This doesn`t mean I think Kane will be a disaster its just that I think Haaland will be so so much better. I asked my self which transfer would upset me most. Haaland Going to one of those red twatish clubs would do it if we sign Kane. If we signed Haaland I wouldn`t give a shit where Kane went.

I couldn`t nail my colour`s to the mast more than this. IMO

Haaland would stay three years then leave. He looks up to bludy CR7, he likes that Ronaldo played in different leagues at RB in a interview he said he wants to replicate what CR7 did. Whoever gets Haaland won't have him long 2 to 3 years max.

It brings the actual money being paid down in a sense doesn’t it. Nobody would pay that for Sterling however using it in a transfer means we don’t have to finance 50 plus million more. Sterling leaves, his high wages are gone and we haven’t had to front more money. There’s the downside of what you don’t get back for him but like I say I’d be gobsmacked anybody paid that kind of cash for him if he decided to leave tomorrow
I'd Sterling goes to Spurs, we are definitely going to be subsidising his salary - not a cat in hell's chance they are going to bust their wage cap potentially by double+...............

If Levy is going to mess us about then we should just walk away and look elsewhere. Levy doesn't sound like he wants to sell anyway. Who's going to come and manage Spurs if their best player has just been sold ?

Spurs will reject the £100m if they haven't already. Kane will push them for a move so we will offer £120m probably. Spurs will reject again, Kane will be forced to stay. I just can't see Levy selling no matter what and we are not going to go to £150m when he will probably reject that as well. It is a nonstarter for me unless Spurs need the money. He is under contract for another 3 years. All this talk of a gentleman's agreement seems to be something the media just make up to make things look more like they will happen. Remember the same with Mahrez? and we walked away and came back later when Leicester stopped being silly.

They have the biggest debt in Europe.

The idea would seem to be, City have offered 'a package' worth 100m. That will be made up of a basic payment/payments, with guarantees for extra payments if criteria are met in the future - games played, wins, goals scored, winning the PL, CL. It could also include agent fees and some sort of agreement on the terms of Kane's termination with Spurs.

In reality, this package will not have been formally offered to Spurs. But it will be their expectation based on conversations had with third parties, agents, possibly even people from City.

At the same time we will have let them know we have some players we would be willing to negotiate sales for. Any fees would be handled separately - but just as importantly, reported separately. This is the best thing for all parties, clubs and players alike. Because no-one wants to look like they got chucked into a deal as a makeweight.

So Lukaku it is then ;-)

It’s either 100-120 mill now for Kane or spurs are stuck with a player who doesn’t want to be there and also next season they definitely won’t get a better offer, so stick or twist Levy
