Harry Kane

Not true are we forgetting the sterling transfer, KDB trsanfer(jesus christ), most big transfers we've had without a release clause were annoying to deal with. Hell even walker was annoying to go through and not quiet at all. Mahrez went from January didn't happen there then came back and happened in the next window and was drawn out as well. And all of these transfers had heaps of “paper talk” prior to them happening. The only “quiet transfer” I can recall were Ederson, Bernardo and few others mainly release clause players
Yes, Dias was quick and easy too. Premier league ones will always be harder though.

I'd be worried and shocked tbh if we don't have other options lined up.
I wouldn't be, actually. Mostly because if not Kane, the market is extremely short on quality strikers available, it would be a gamble to just spend it on anyone, unless obviously they've done their scouting thoroughly (which is usually the case) but besides the point. The importance of getting the right man and getting it done makes it Kane or no one. That's all.

Apart from Bernardo we never get deals done quickly and quietly.

We (the fans) always have an inkling who we are going for by March time’ish.

Rumours tend to start around January then every 3/4 weeks the same names pop up in the papers/websites.

Grealish has been linked with us since Christmas. Kane though was more of a surprise as we all thought Haaland.

Clubs want to rinse us for as much cash as possible so it’s never easy for us to get deals done quietly. They shout it from the roof tops they don’t want to sell.
We’ve done well a couple of times to get the odd deal done in June but most deals take ages.
Kane was no surprise, apparently we made a bid to sign him in January but Spurs were having none of it.

Oh they do. It's just that unfortunately Kane isn't sexy, and therefore there's is an intense amount of denial going on about our business. This is no different to KDB or Sterling. Our target is clear, and so is the process of signing him.

And that’s exactly why he would be a good signing for us, he’s a professional, a family man, no fuss off the pitch surrounding him, no circus following him - which for me is the secondary reason why city MIGHT see him as a better option for us.

You can’t discount the image thing with our owners - the culture of the club is pivotal in who they recruit and has seen a few world class stars not even given a second glance in the past at city, and potentially why Haaland could be a second choice.

I’m not good enough with the tarot cards to know which would be the best option for us so will leave it to the experts but I’m happy with either of the pair TBH

Right, but that’s what I was saying. It was a surprise to us (the fans) as we all thought Haaland was the target.
Not so sure, the level of striker we require there are few players in that category.

Haaland, Kane, Mbappe or an outside bet Lukaku.

Right, but that’s what I was saying. It was a surprise to us (the fans) as we all thought Haaland was the target.

Does that not then make it entirely possible, that we the fans thinking (with equal conviction) that Kane is the tarket, could end up with a other surprise at some point when a other tarket ends up being looked at or suggested?

If we sign Kane and Jesus does want out, will we go with Torres or sign another?

Ideally we sign Kane and keep Jesus. We need at least two proper strikers with playing so many games.

I’d hate for Jesus to go, I think he’s a superb all-round player, just doesn’t score enough to be our only or main striker, so we need Kane.

If Jesus does leave then we could do a lot worse than sign Ings as back up to Kane. I believe Ings is a better striker/finisher than Torres. And probably Jesus, but Jesus’s all round game is way above that of Ings.

Either way, we desperately need Kane. Or Haaland.

Agree about Jesus and keeping him, but if Kane rocks up, I think it would be the moment he would want out.

He been incredibly patient waiting for his chance to become our no1 striker.

lets hope so, but Kane seems to be the one.

This maybe where Ings comes in as squad depth?
Perhaps so. Going with the two top class players for each position aspiration it seems unlikely we will do a swap without a further purchase. Also the reason I'm not taking seriously the talk of several players us cash for Kane. We have a fairly streamlined squad - perhaps midfield heavy, but necessary to play the false 9 in the absence of striker options.

Ings back up maybe??
