Harry Kane

Was it not posted on here ( not this thread) that he wasn’t going out on loan after all Stoke I think were favourites but he’s staying now, unless I’ve got my wires crossed..
Just seen Peps post match embargoed presser, he does state that Delap (along with Lavia, Palmer, McAtee, Mbete & Edozie) are staying. They'll be playing U23s and training with the 1st team (hopefully get some minutes as well obviously).

He also said that they did the same with Tommy Doyle last season but that he's ready for a loan.

We are a pretty placid fan base there was no real kick off about the Super League like with the dickheads on the pitch at OT, never any fan action about price increases like the walk outs at Anfield.

I reckon if it was Arsenal, Chelsea, Barca, Madrid, United or Liverpool etc you’d be seeing protests/banners about the lack of a striker and potentially none coming in asking for Txiki, Berrada or Soriano to go.

But the fanbase are generally happy, their positions are completely secure so they don’t really face any major backlash if they don’t get Kane and we go again with no striker.

Just imo a wasted season of Pep and top, top quality players at their peak.
What a load of complete bollocks. We were 3 games from winning a quad and have just broken the British transfer record yet you think we should head to the stadium with pitchforks demanding to sack the board. Laughable !

As for saying fans of other clubs would, the scousers have watched their 3 rivals pay over 280m between them for 3 new players whilst they have invested nowt despite finishing 4th. I must have missed the Anfield demos at the weekend.

The centre backs were much of a muchness. Yes Dias has worked out extremely well, but the difference to Kounde or Koulibaly is not the same as the difference as Kane to any other strikers we’re realistically able to attain

I understand the Kane or nothing stance, but I imagine everyone involved from City side expected it to have been decided by now
I beg to differ. First, Dias cured a long-standing and glaring defensive weakness. Not just directly but also by his stabilising effect on colleagues. Second, he has has years ahead of him, arguably as club captain for a number of them.

It‘s easy to forget how easily our defence used to get roasted on the break, to such an extent that CD - not striker - was our priority a year ago.

We didn't "get through" last year, we walked the title because we won 21 consecutive games in all comps, the record for an English club.

It's incredible how the forum has rewritten history so that we were the only team without problems. Does no one remember the massive covid outbreaks, the injuries to key players, our top goalscorer losing form?

We dropped 28 points last season. 9 were after the league was won. 5 were because we didn't have a defence for the first 3 games.

I don't care about other sides, I'm looking at our side and thinking about us. Sterling has found his form. Jesus has been reinvigorated on the wing. Mahrez is in the form of his life. Dias and Stones are an established partnership and Dias is already looking like he's made strides with ball at feet. Foden is only getting better.

Between adopting the false 9 system and the game when Pep started resting people for the CL because the league was over (13 points clear), we played 19 Premier League matches and won 18 of them.

I see absolutely no evidence of the system being "figured out".
I think that the FA Cup semi, the CL final, Community shield and the loss to Spurs has clouded people's judgement.

The more I think about it the more convinced I am that we were just knackered at points and the ridiculous quadruple idea was just a bridge too far.

I'd certainly like us to sign Kane though.

Are we at the making sandwiches and off to the airport for a day out stage yet

You mean like how we had Ruben wrapped up well in advance last summer? Oh and KDB...
KDB dragged out but didn't go down to the last dew days? Same with Dias I think.

I just think that if it ends up going to deadline day it won't happen but I'm sure I've been wrong before...

And no doubt the quad will be on the horizon again come end of April -pretty certain of that

We offered a revised proposal on Friday night mate, following the meeting on Thursday. That’s been accepted today.

All the major papers are saying today that we are prepping a take it or leave it offer to Spurs.
Revised proposal to Kane or Spurs. This saga is playing tricks with my head !

Just checking my tin hat from last night, and I reckon it’s got another days beating left in it (nerds don’t hit that hard!)……

Kane’s camp has agreed to the new terms.

Now its over to the Execs to do their thing.
Was it was about image stuff with kane camp ?

I hope that you are correct.

If not quite making the bigQ means a "failure" of a season like we have just had then where do I sign?

It really is still very fresh in my mind just yearning for a decent FA Cup run, a couple of European outings and even daring to dream of a League Cup triumph.

I remember being in a pub watching us batter Stoke five nil but we ended up both going down.

These are heady times.

Edit:- @hello has pointed out that I forgot a couple of Stoke goals. :-(
