You don't sell a homegrown (they are precious commodities since the new rules came in), popular, and talented player because of a bad patch or even a bad season, especially when there is prior evidence that he's a top class goalkeeper.
Edit: A game or two on the bench is a fairer suggestion just to nudge him and tell him he has competition.
