Hazard Joining Chelsea

1. The agent is reported to have bagged 6 million for this deal,...which is a fee City would never pay. As has been reported before City have a policy where they expect the player to pay HIS agent, not the club. I think this may have been the stumbling block for us, but I wholeheartedly agree with the clubs approach to these agents.

2. City have spent months on trying to bring Hazard to our club, he has been scouted by a few people including Viera, his agent and the player have been escorted around the club and then he is supposed to have signed for Chelsea,......maybe he does mean he will join the Champions, League winners. (City)......instead of the Champions Lague winners (Chelsea) ???

Completely agree in that neither us or the Rags would have let this lunacy go so far. It has Abramovich written all over.
So this is unacceptable but the whole Tevez saga was model of dignity?

We punished tevez so whats your point?

What exactly is Hazard supposed to be punished for? Not that we could, since he's not a CFC player yet.

The kid has a Twitter account and is sharing an info with his fans, like many other celebrities do. Don't blame the footballer, blame the millions of muppets who are willing to hang on to every tweet he makes and spend countless hours on the internet waiting for him to make up his mind. No one put a gun to their heads and made them do it, right?

Great article here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...azard-to-join-Chelsea-in-35-million-deal.html

"City are thought to have walked away from the deal last week with Spurs giving up some time ago."

"Chelsea will pay a fee of around €40 million (£35.3 million) to Lille, with Hazard having demanded wages of £4.6 million a year net of tax, so around £9  million a year for his new employer. That averages out at £170,000 a week."

"If all the demands are met and with Hazard expected to agree a five-year deal, it means the overall cost of the signing, fees and contract will amount to around £78 million which, even by Chelsea standards, is a substantial investment."

I said to my friend before the reports over the last few days have all been about United or Chelsea. Makes sense. On another note this was on red cafe LOL

This is the last time I will post on a thread about this fella after saying my piece here....

This fella has played an absolute blinder along with his pimp of an agent. What i actually believe over the course of this total media whoring is that he has milked this to his hearts content and it has left a sour taste in many a fans mouths. the ego on this fella is actually outstanding, Hazard along with Lille & the agent pimp have created such a circus around him that it was like the second coming!!!!!!

Now last night he has finally made up his mind and chosen Chelsea, due to promises by a russian owner who again is buying players for himself and promising playing time as part of any deal. Well God help whoever this new manager is going to be for Chelsea, because this is the Schevchenko scenario all over again. I predict that due to the terms of agreement in hazards choice & his ego being taken into account, as soon as something occurs that is not to his liking an almighty diva strop will be thrown causing chaos and headlines for the club.

The press will write that this signing is a major coup and show of intention for Chelsea next season, what they probably won't write about is the fact that this signing has all the possibilities of creating a monster headache for any new manager and will cause fractions between players.

Our great club (and i have to say the scum as well) have kept a dignified silence in dealing with him, had this fella chosen us or the scum he would not have been allowed to carry on with the games he has played. The reason he has carried on this way is down to fact that there is no manager at Chelsea to reprimand him, again only Abramovich who has signed him, so he is not going to say hey stop that. The fact that Hazard has could not wait for any news to be associated with a clubs official website again shows the high regard he holds himself in.

I will end in wishing the new chelsea manager all the luck in the world because that person is going to need it. Well done abramovich for adding another ego along with all the others that reside at Chelsea adding to the already established player power

We do seem to keep quiet about our signings till we announce them these days and are pretty professional in the way we go about them and they way hazard has been tweeting and dragging this out etc, i felt like we were not in for him anymore as im sure he would have been told to keep quiet.
Good signing by Chelsea, look forward to seeing the guy play but with him looking like an attention seeker i would rather we look elsewhere

Chelsea are a big club. The European Cup (as I like to call it) is the holy grail and if you win it, you're reputation rockets throughout the world. Added to that, they already have a history of dominance in the modern age, lots of PR, a world-wide fan base and, of course, the London factor.

Plus they pay very well.

So it's not a shock that EH has decided to chance his arm there, helped (at least superficially) by the suggestion that he covets the no 10 (of which we have many).

Like many other posters, I think City should be applauded at the way in which we've conducted out business: we expressed an interest; invited the boy to the Etihad and showed him around the environs; contacted his club and agreed a fee; and then spoke to his agent/s.

When the goal-posts moved after Chelsea beat Bayern, we stood our ground in the face of prevarication on his part and have now in effect walked away.

Chelsea conduct business in a haphazard (no pun intended), childlike fashion, with no perceived plan of how they are going to get where they want to be (witness for instance all the maangers Roman has appointed in the last 8 years); City are striving to run a business on firm foundations, with a clear game-plan and in as ethical way as possible.

I'm happy to trust our owners going forward whatever challenges await.

Have to admit I've never seen him play so can't comment on his ability. But I'm glad we've walked away and laid down a marker that the era of the "City premium" on wages is over.

Also I'm not sure how a player of his type would fit into a line up also including Silva and Nasri. Might be one too many of that type?

I agree the way we conducted the transfer will let the rest of the world know we will not be held to ransom. Yes we may miss out if the agent is bent, trying to get a massive fee for doing nothing.

The problem with Chelsea is their greatest strength (aside from the fans) is also their greatest weakness - namely, Abrahamovic. Had he applied a little intelligence to how he went about his businees they'd have won the league perhaps another 3 or 4 times under his stewardship. And maybe the CL sooner too. But they've still won plenty so I guess their fans won't be complaining.

Fully agree. I was going to say that Hazard had to have been convinced of his "Playing time" by Abramovich as they technically have no manager, unless di Matteo has been given the job on the quiet. And if it was Abramovich then this makes Hazard's option of Chelsea an even bigger joke as it is clear that any manager is simply Abramovich's puppet. I wonder if Juan Mata will be giving up the number 10 shirt?

Correct any manager that goes their will be Abramovich's puppet. He talks directly to the players promising playing time, wages, we have confidence in you ext. The players don't even go to the manager, they go direct to him. Not a good way to run a club.
