Historically A Very Good Year

Glad to see some people are happy to put up with mediocrity in relation to money spent.

We are 2nd in the league and going for the FA Cup. Liverpool is mediocrity. Most teams would kill to be in our position. Did I mention we are reigning champions on England? Mediocrity..... don't make me laugh you clown.

This should have been a season where we built on the foundation put down in 2010/11 & 2011/12 .It was an opportunity to emerge from decades in the shadows of our neighbours .
Instead we have behaved like some chav lottery winner who got pissed for a year, blew all his dough on some very expensive but crap cars and then crept back to live with his parents.
NO NO NO we should not be happy.
I've watched City since Ken Barnes days & this season was vital. We had our foot on United's neck and we just took it off stupidly thinking the beast was dead.
..
Tonight's match re-inforces the belief that United & Real are the aristocracy of football whereas we are just a usurper. it will take years of sustained success to re-balance the myth that we are merely pretenders to United so why,why FFS did we take a frigging gap year.

Could not put it better myself, we'll said nelly

We were never going to win the league every year from now on. There was always going to be a season where they beat us to the title. This year it looks like happening. Oh well, we'll dust ourselves off and be back next year.

Did you really think we'd be up there with Real Madrid and united by 2013? Give it time, we're getting there.

If we finish second this season it will only be the tenth (10) time in our entire history (a history that has seen us viewed as one of the premier club of this country a few times) that we've finished in the top three (3) of the top league. We might even win a cup with that too, making it one of our greatest ever seasons.

Sometimes you take a step back to take three forward. The foundations from those seasons are still there, the players we bought for this season could end up being good squad players for us over the next five years and we could build on our first team immensely this Summer. Things don't always take a nice linear elevated pattern and like it or not United will continue to win titles in the future, not just this season.

We are just an usurper, young upstarts on the start of our journey to become an LA Lakers, Boston Celtics, NY Yankees, Dallas Cowboys, Manchester United and Real Madrid.

The Sheikh hasn't even been here five years yet, it took United and Real Madrid fifty years to get where they are now and we won't be overtaking them anytime soon, and that stands even if we'd won the title this season too.

You want to be careful wandering around with all that perspective.

It won't win you any friends on here.

The correct etiquette is to ponificate like a know-all spoilt brat and scream and shout and stamp your feet because we aren't 8 million points clear, haven't signed 60 megastars of world football in the transfer window and sacked the current manager.

Now, please make sure you follow these simple rules when posting in future.
