We’ve just had our holiday with TUI fucked about with if they don’t sort it I’ll not book with them again, twats, seems they do it a lot as well.

They absolutely shafted us about 10 years ago. Never booked a package holiday since. They're a fucking shambles, wouldn't use them for free mate.

Wife booked a holiday for next October nearly two years in advance, they’ve come back and said our flight is going a day earlier now which means we would have to take our daughter out of school! There is an alternative on the Saturday but they’ve said we would have to pay £500 more!! That’s on top of the £4.5k we already paid but guess what we can cancel for free, that holiday is selling for nearly £6k now so that what they want us to do, wife will fight it all the way.

They changed my flight for this summer too, which is OK because we actually have better flights now but does mean I'm more likely to miss 1st game of season as flying on Sunday rather than the Monday.
I did ask them why and was told because we had booked so far in advance, they have to basically guess what flight slots they will get given and my original flight now doesn't exist because they didn't get the slot.

By the way, only my opinion but I wouldn't worry about 1 day out of school.

It isn’t though pal we’ve already taken her out two days, plus it’s an extra night board for the two dogs because of the flight times, coupled with we lose a whole day in the resort because of the change of flight times, if they offered us the Saturday it’s almost identical plus she wouldn’t miss school (bonus) but they want £500 for their fuck up!
Edit to this wife just gone back online and it’s actually cheaper to go on the Saturday than the Wednesday now! I’ve told her to ring up and make that point.

Sorry to hear that and it's never a nice feeling when a company lets you down. We were once tampered with by the RAC and as a consequence didnt use them again for over 20 years. They left us stranded up Crown Point Burnley Moor for hours in the piss wind and snow and eventually they had the audacity to say I told them we were up Crown Point in Manchester. Why would I tell a breakdown company I am in Manchester when I am up Burnley Moor.

Tui havent done us a bad turn and we've used them on and off since 1979. As with all package deals the best price for the same holiday always gets our money and just as happy to use JET2 or Easyjet Holidays.

The last 20 years we have always booked flights and hotels separately,it's good to pick your time of flight and look at different hotels.

So we’ve managed to get the Saturday flight now! Seems they agreed with us on the price, once we’d mentioned we had emailed the director, attitudes changed. Anyway job done and bonus don’t have to take the kid out of school now.

Absolute pisstaking twats who couldn't give a shit about their customers. Either pay up or fuck off and we'll find somebody else that wants it. Nevermind the upheaval and inconvenience of moving days of the flight. Glad you've managed to sort it mate, funny how they changed their tune once you told them you'd gone higher up the food chain. Enjoy your holiday

But on the flipside:-
  • Much lower prices
  • Freedom to move your holiday dates - you should know this as I'll bet you are in the EasyJet flight club
  • Free cancellation on hotels upto 24/48/72 hours in advance
  • You pay for the flights up front but most of the cost = the hotel - doesn't have to be paid until you check-in
  • Not hanging around in the airport car park for hours whilst stragglers make their way to the coach for the transfer
We have got one holiday with TUI booked next year, but on the whole, I prefer EasyJet/Ryanair.
