How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

^Reasonable post for my money... I hope it's another example of the dialogue getting better going forward.

For us, one thing. For the kids.... maybe another.

Plenty of time for me to reflect over the last four years. And the same voice keeps coming back with the same answer.

Your heart, your love, is supposed to lead you to thinking about their opportunities.

Emotions cloud that. Let's be positive tho. As long as people keep talking... the longer we have to accept reality as it happens - rather than fight over what might be.... the opportunity will be there for us as a country to make many things better.
Those in charge refuse to see the problem let alone talk about resolving it.

There are those on here that like to present themselves as ‘reasonable’ and they call for folks to ‘move on’. They like to present those that complain as hardliners that cannot let go.

that’s wrong. If Brexit was a ‘one off’ their argument might have some credibility but in fact those that gave us Brexit are committing ‘crimes’ against the well-being of this Nation every day they are in power (see above for the latest in broken promises, this time by Truss who is being lined up as our next Prime Minister). No bloody wonder some of us continue to be angry, nay, fucking furious at these leaches that will ultimately break the Union and destroy its economy and way of life. Emboldened by a passive voting public who are happy to act as boiled frogs.

Couldn’t agree with this more. I was never a political hardliner. I was never even that engaged or interested. I’ve voted for more than one party in my time.

But this act is so big, so damaging, so stupid, so permanent and so fucking unnecessary that it had pushed me into becoming politically angry and horrified and that won’t leave me at all. The truth is that practically every embarrasing thing going on in British politics can be traced back to Brexit. It was even more damaging than the worst predictions. I don’t remember anyone saying we would become taken over completely by morons.

Fuck those who brought this in the UK and fuck those who still fall for it.

Not sure that's possible Dave, the worst predictions were practically Armageddon. It's been handled appallingly so far and we're a long way from that.

A smaller economy, less international trade, problems with travel, less choice in shops, crops rotting in fields, livestock being culled, sewage in rivers, fishing decimated, less inward investment, assets going abroad, inferior trade deals, expats unable to stay where they want, not enough seasonal workers, NHS / Social care staffing crises, threat to GFA, contributor to excessive inflation, threat to the union, less international influence.

Not sure what could make it worse. I suppose we’ll find out when we start having to check imports properly and interest payments on debt continue to break records leaving even less for public services.
