How do we resolve the Brexit mess?

Well nobody other than people who lived in Islington North did. ;)

I voted for a Labour candidate to the right of him. If I am living in current constituency at next election I'll be voting Lib Dem for tactical reasons ( Labour hasn't had an MP here since the 50s).

actually - like him or not that vote for Corbyn is how it should be. I assume he has been a good constituency MP? He has been there a long time. And he has set up a hardworking canvassing team to secure election victory. Thats people voting for the Party on the basis of the manifesto and the local MP based on track record or a new one based on what they set out they want to do.

Far too many seats are settled on a Presidential style vote in peoples heads - I bet in most of those red wall seats if asked they will tell you they "voted for Boris" and even now can't tell you who the MP they elected is

I don't need to justify it. It happened. And I'm glad it did. Still entertaining watching remoaners scraping out negatives though.

scraping out? Mate you are truly deluded if you can't see 6 years in and we are still picking up the windfall and harvesting the low hanging fruits thats how shit it is - I doubt we will be scraping anything out for decades as Brexit delivers its shitty and predicted outcomes week by week. I mean for a start its killed 3 Tory premierships in those 6 years and I count that as just predictable windfall. The 4th loser is about to get elected.

Can't disagree with any of that, he has been a good servant of his constituency.

Whilst I was aware of him before ran for the leadership, liked him , and wanted him to win the leadership election.

I never thought he was a good leader.

So you’re Brexit positive is laughing at people who are inconvenienced by it?

You sound nice.
Genuinely for a lot of uneducated Brexit voters that is what it became about very quickly. They had their "victory" over those who they felt were more advantaged in life. They didn't particularly even care that the prize was a lorry load of shit for us all forever because they couldn't really make that link or follow that critical path mentally. GDP, exports, free trade etc were just words.

Should never of left but now we are the government need to get on with it!

Be as self sufficient as possible as a country with power, manufacturing and food!

Problem is the any government are only interested in themselves making money and how to stay in power!

The biggest positive I can find is that it’s going to eat the Tories until they recognise the disaster.

It is beyond sad that so many orgnaisations can continue claiming all is well while everything actually appears to be burning down.

It seems to monolithic now that it's almost impossible to make inroads with minor details like reality.

This despite Simon Calder going for a record for the number of broadcasters he can tell the truth at (I'd say "tell the truth to", but that would suggest that it doesn't just bounce off the shield of Brexity.

I just laugh at Brexiteers who are inconvenienced by it. Schadenfreude is underrated and is one of the few Brexit benefits - being able to say "I told you so" on forums like this can be entertaining. It's a shame it also inconveniences the rest of us who didn't want this shit but at least it's a small positive. Probably makes me not a nice person either but that's Brexit for you - dividing the country in ways we never even thought of.

Whilst true, it doesn’t help quicken the process of undoing the damage we are now causing.

It keeps the “well, at least my vote has pissed off the right people” narrative that you see everywhere.

Let’s see where the narrative is next spring after the winter of discontent on top of all these small inconveniences.

When Brexit problems are bleeding out of multiple wounds, it’ll be hard to plaster over them all at the same time.

There is no process of undoing the damage. The one we're currently in is still deliberately making things worse.

There is, starting with the Single Market.

Hopefully Labour will be campaigning for it next year after those that haven’t frozen to death are protesting about having no money.

His "smile" is in fact a cringe at being publicly exposed for the clown that he is - he is like Nick Ferrari - claiming to be Tory Lite almost but they keep exposing their degree of client journalism with stupid backing of things like Brexit
Sadly, I suspect you’re wrong there. His smile is one of someone who doesn’t give two fucks, who’s got what he wanted and who can now blame the French for the whole shit show.
Never forget either, that his boss, like all the media tycoons, are all making a fortune out of this and yet not one of them pays any tax here. They divide this country, they own the government and they don’t even pay for the privilege.

I meant there's no process currently ongoing to minimise the damage. Quite the opposite. As you say, hopefully common sense will prevail at some point and we'll look at re-joining the SM, but I can't see that happening any time soon especially with the Tories in charge.

I'll also be voting Lib Dem but not for tactical reasons. It will probably work out that way though anyway as Labour have no chance in my constituency at all.
