ive just re joined the gym, have changed my diet a bit and am going to keep adjusting it if it needs adjusting. im 6 ft 2, nearly 12 stone and want to put some on...ill be training 3-4 times a week as well as my usual football once a week. this thread has given me some good ideas food wise and i was just wondering if someone could look at my diet for the last 4 days and see if this will make me grow if i continue as well as train hard and properly.

wed-1 egg white on best of both toast, an orange, turkey muffin(or barm?), banana, pasta in sauce, turkey muffin, cottage cheese on toast, chicken and rice, scrambled egg white on toast...in that order, spaced out into 6 sittings

thur-same till tea time, had a home made brocolli soup and 6 slices of best of both bread, cottage cheese on toast x 2

fri- same till tea time then chicken and rice, cottage cheese on toast and 1 egg white on toast before bed
but imust say i drink 4 coffees a day and like chocolate in the evenings.....will this have to stop?
today ive had 2 x cottage cheese on toast, a sausage muffin, a bowl of rice pudding,an orange and a banana, and i bought some tuna and monkey nuts today...
im planning on upping my meal sizes as the days go. but have found its preparing all this food which is the most time consuming!!haha thanks to the op, bibby blue for the pms,and all those posting in this thread, its given me a kick up the ass.

How does this compare with what you used to eat before?. What is your work out pattern like?. Either your work out 3 or you work out 4 days?. Not 3/4, how long do you stay in the gym what do you do?.

Coffee wont kill you but is not ideal, how much chocolate and everyday? Really?. How much of it?.

i never used to eat this much but have always struggled putting it on, with my job i cant commit to 4 days but definately 3, istay in the gym 45 mins, do 2 musclegroups a day, heavy(for me anyway) no training partner, chocolate everyday, lots of it! im consciously cutting it back though and replacing with something good for me...

Ok the meals are good for now. Stick to them for 4 weeks and keep training and see if there is a difference. You are going to have to increase you intake on about the 12th week as you body will be used to eating more. Bad news is you cannot work out and eat chocolate every day. You know this but you need someone to tell you. On your cheat days which from your training will be different you can have one bar. But thats once a week not lots everyday. Thats just like using a bucket to empty a boat full of water with a huge hole in the bottom. Cut the chocolate and if it has been an every day thing the results will be immediate.

Just follow the plan we discussed before no need to start today. Its actually cheap too. Dont do all these silly crash diets they only work short term. Cereal is fine but as part of a balanced meal plan. Not just so you fill up and not feel hungry so you dont eat because your body goes into emergency mode and says

"We are not getting enough food, lets convert the next food we get into fat as well as hold on to this current fat so we can have more energy in an emergency."

Eating is very important, when you eat regularly your body says.

"Hey we are well fed we dont need to store this fat we have fat lets get rid of some it as well as get rid of this food."

And the more you train and eat healthy the more your burn fat and get fitter and stronger.
