How would you like the season to be decided?

Finishing the season should be the lowest priority. The first should be people's health. The second should be ensuring that no football clubs go out of business because of this. The third should be the on the pitch results. Those second two aren't necessarily mutually exclusive, of course.

now is the time to focus on saving and protecting lives. Football seems irrelevant.

once we have gone through this storm. Then we can joyfully resume the season however long it may take.

The precedents are set by the two World Wars, where a new season started following the cessation of each. This is no different. The league's own rules state that he season must end by June 1st, I believe. Every new season commences, generally, in August, and it is unlikely that this will happen this year, so it could be that a new FULL season will not commence effectively until the 2021 - 2022 season! This season must therefore be declared null and void.
I've just checked the historical records immediately after both Wars. The first full season was after WW1 was 1919/20, as the Armistice was signed 11/11/18. After WW2, it appears that the FA Cup only was played in 1945/46, with the following year, 1946/47, being when a full season was played.

We all know the real reason why the PL and the media are so insistent that this season be completed, so I'm not going to go over old ground. Suffice it to say that if they do as you suggest, I've been to my last game already.

Its about time the sports media started to look at the reality of this situation , all sport is cancelled for at least 12months , they can award what they want to whoever , give the Dippers the title , champs league , europa league , Balon D'or give them everything they think they deserve , because anything awarded will be remembered as tainted because of this horrific virus and the thousands of deaths that are on the way , because we still have so many idiots not taking this situation seriously.

i think football and any other sports should not be thinking about anything other than safety to everybody in their sports ?? playing in empty stadiums is wrong and its impossible. if sports has to stop and take a back seat then so be it. even if its a year or longer then lets get things right in life first. sport is not a tap you can turn on or off and start again. people will need time to adjust back into their normally and life and then think about sports

also people will not have much free cash to spend without work and family comes first. and just getting back into your routine will be hard. so am not even thinking of a time scale for football and now back to the question how do we decide winners or losers

well its simple just take a minute to look at the death tolls around the world right now and then triple or more the figures when a final counts add up and you get your answer

its daft what winning a meaningless title means to people in liverpool or involved with liverpool right now ?? get a fucking grip ? thousands of people are dropping dead and all you can think about is finishing the season because liverpool need to be called champions ? if it means that much to liverpool and its people just give it them ?? and then when we can get out of this mess off trying to kill a virus that is killing people we can then start to point the finger at the scum liverpool wanting their title ? really they are scum. and its funny that we all knew long ago what they really are

sorry but why ?? since all of this shit happened the only club that is wanting a finish is liverpool ? i have heard nothing from any other club even the teams in the bottom 3 or in the top 2 in the championship. they have respected the lock down and not put pressure on anybody to sort out the mess ONLY FUCKING liverpool i shake my head

Sorry Ancoats I thought this thread was about "How would you like to see the season decided". A straight forward vote rather than a chance for vitriol towards LiVARpool. I also think it was a unanimous vote to extend the delay. Come Mid April though I think it may well be unanimously the other way

I'm afraid I would have to go "none of the above". As has been said football is irrelevant when dealing with an pandemic. Pause to try and get a hold of the problem. See how bad it is and then make a decision. If that means Null and Void , well so be it, but it clearly makes sense to stop everything to put peoples lives first. Impossible to restart until this is sorted and certainly not with empty stadia...so I reckon Early '21 we will start afresh

and my point is who cares in this testing times ? lets just try and get through this first. win the fight of the virus first and then sort the mess out. and only then should football and any sport come together and build a plan or start again. like i said its only liverpool adding pressure for a result and finish and it sounds like they are the only club in the world

there is bigger and more problems are needed other than calling liverpool champions. smaller clubs and relegation and promotion and if clubs are going to miss out then its going to have a major impact on them. even places in the premier league carry and big money prize. and its club changing and will be hard for them to take. so like i said lets just put football on the back burner and wait
