Huddersfield (H) Post Match Thread

Just lovely stuff, we're a proper team now, not some collection of individuals. We're not reliant on one or two guys having a good game, pretty much 7 or 8 of the team are capable of making the difference. The addition of Mendy over Delph adds one more position that can win us the game on his own and beyond that, he's going to force teams to try and stop him, which will inevitably open up space inside for others. We look absolutely terrifying, it's great.

That was genuinely the best and most complete performance yet. I know they're likely the weakest team we'll play but the quality of football was triumphant. The interplay was incredible. Gundogan and Jesus played like we've all wanted them to. We've absolutely evolved and it should only improve as time progresses.

The only negatives were occasional mistakes and blips that we'll definitely kick out as we go on. Laporte missing that one header, a couple of stray Fernandinho passes, Jesus's finishing, and the conceded goal. But they were such minor errors in the grand scheme of things and all the aforementioned players were excellent anyway. Laporte was an immense physical presence otherwise, Fernandinho was his usual self after about 20 minutes, Jesus was holy, and in the circumstances the nature of their goals serves as more of a lesson than a problem.

That's how good it was, that the only issue was that we played a 9.9/10 game instead of a 10/10. Also Sterling was anonymous. Didn't even see him that's how bad he was.

Great to win 6-1 against a team who we found difficult to break down last season. Mendy's best game for City by a distance. Sergio - the lethal finisher. Jesus - not as good a finisher but his link up play and awareness of those around him was excellent. David Silva - orchestrating things at his usual top notch level and a special free kick. He must be a proud Dad tonight. I thought Huddersfield were very passive and never even tried to lay a glove on us (maybe the fear factor was too great) and they look a good bet to go down. Bernardo, although he had a good first half I was expecting him to run the show when Merlin went off and he kind of disappeared when he went inside. Mahrez - plenty of skill but needs to understand being the King Pin at Leicester is not the same as being a player here. Needs to keep it simple and play in his team mates when they are better placed to score. Plenty of time for him to adjust though. All round enjoyable game.

Fantastic performance again

Silva was his majestic best

Aguero simply brilliant

Stones and Laporte a rock solid partnership

Mendy a joy bombing forward

Not to mention the rest of the team and those on the bench
