That was genuinely the best and most complete performance yet. I know they're likely the weakest team we'll play but the quality of football was triumphant. The interplay was incredible. Gundogan and Jesus played like we've all wanted them to. We've absolutely evolved and it should only improve as time progresses.
The only negatives were occasional mistakes and blips that we'll definitely kick out as we go on. Laporte missing that one header, a couple of stray Fernandinho passes, Jesus's finishing, and the conceded goal. But they were such minor errors in the grand scheme of things and all the aforementioned players were excellent anyway. Laporte was an immense physical presence otherwise, Fernandinho was his usual self after about 20 minutes, Jesus was holy, and in the circumstances the nature of their goals serves as more of a lesson than a problem.
That's how good it was, that the only issue was that we played a 9.9/10 game instead of a 10/10. Also Sterling was anonymous. Didn't even see him that's how bad he was.
