Last night the players did it for the supporters, NOT Hughes.

His missing right back formation does not work, leaving Dunnie chasing winger out on the right and the defence pulled over..........far post ball.

The midfield was too far away from the defence so the ball keeps coming back in.

Banging high balls into big Phil when the defenders are much taller does not work, give it him on the ground and he will hold it all night.

When pressing for a goal and their defence goes narrow is the time to put on a wide pace player and go three at the back, NOT with only six mins to go when down to ten men.

He does not get on with the players, other coaches he did not bring in, and even the ground staff hate the numpty, his team selection is poor, his tactic worse, motivation none existant, and he can not read a game.

Please explain this bit in more detail. I hate the term "he's lost the dressing room". Unless you are in there or know a player on a personal basis you have no idea, you're going off rumours and the papers say. Who cares what the ground staff think they are there to prepare the playing surface not pick the team!! Did you not see the interview with Ireland (it's on ITV's site) I suggest you watch that and see what he thinks about getting yet another manager.

The reason we lost is simple.... Hughes made poor decisions again It was Obvious Dunne was going to get sent off so he should have been replaced earlier.... He took off Elano and replaced with a waste of space. He left a player up front who seems to be unable to understand the off side rule....christ how many times in one match . Richards and Dunne are playing exactly like this time a year ago . The question still remains is Hughes up for it or is he still 100% red and be honest there are players who are simply so much up thier own arses ..lets have a super sale - come May Buy one get two free and bring players in who want to play for the club by giving 100% every week. They are still on about 7th west brom will have something to say about that !!! and god helps when we play the Scum.

News to me, Vin and Pab Zab had excellent DM games last night and frequently broke up their play, after their early goal there was little credible goal threat from Hamburg until Dunnie was sent off

Because tonight showed what the team IS capable of.

If the players are turning out shite performances because they dont like the manager, then get rid of those players. the manager represents the clubs interests whether they like it or not, and if a highly paid professiononal footballer refuses to turn in an honest performance because he does not like the manager, then he should be gotten rid of at the soonest opportunity and players brought in who will perform.

and he is supposed to motivate the players as he is the manager, the players are not the manager

Zabaleta shouldn't have played last night, he in no uncertain terms is knackered, groin and abs he wanted to play for the cause. At his fitness test yesterday morning he was v.doubtful but wanted to play (Warrior)

Maybe Hughes could have played Petrov for the last 6 minutes, but then when they go and score you'd all blame him for taking off a DM and not replacing that with the same.

He will never win with some of the people on here, makes me wonder what's the point of this website. If we beat WBA on Sunday, will it be down to Hughes' ability to pick his squad up from this gutting defeat?
