He's played for 3 of the 4 Champions League Semi Finalists. Pretty much known all around Europe. Big enough name for me.

Which is far more of an achievement than that of that self-publicising, negative tactician of a translator who cherry picks his clubs around Europe. Just before he arrives, JOSE OUT!

You forgot the And wins titles bit ............

I know but I felt it important to get my JOSE OUT! post in early. And his teams still play a boring style, in my view, although I appreciate the need for a trophy some day soon.

"The turnover of managers here hasn't helped continuity, because they have never had any. Basically, change is expected here. Change for the sake of change."

This ^^^^^

Doesn't stop it being true though!

It hasn't helped that we haven't had a decent manager for so long. This is far more important than continuity.

Re: HUGHES - I AM A BIG NAME

As a player you can't argue with him, but as a manager he's done f*ck all and needs to stop blowing smoke out of his arse and start practising what he preaches

Re: HUGHES - I AM A BIG NAME

Obviously some people will always want him out - 1/4 Final of UEFA Cup, pushing for Europe in the League, improving fitness and intensity levels and astute signings that were just what was required at that stage. He appears an honest, level headed and demanding manager, the sort good players will get even better under. Got to give him time - yes the old cliche!
Even if we win the Premiership next year, there will be those critisising him for the style in which we won it or that we should have won it by more points.
On the other hand - if there are not the required improvements this time next year - then yes - that would be concerning.
