Capello - Double your money offer.

Impossible, but he is just what we need. He doesn't take any shit, ie Jo on the lash and Robi disappearing, and he is tactically sound. We'd be boring but very successful.

Impossible? Would you have said that about Keegan, or Sven? It might happen, though I doubt it would until after the World Cup is finished next summer.

Now. if we're binning Hughes, I have a vote for his replacement...

Me.

Yeah, well why not?

I know a thing or two about football. I know exactly where I'd look to correct the issuses with the squad (see my post in the T/F on Friday). I'm City til I die. It might only be on FM2009, but my management credentials are exemplary....

Starting with the September 2008 City squad, after 6 seasons in charge at the virtual COMS my honours list reads thus:
Uefa cup finalists, 2009 (Valencia are bastards)
2 FA Cups
3 League cups
6 consecutive PL titles.
2 CL wins

I have signed David Villa, Messi, Ribery, Hamsik, Fabregas, Aguero and Srna. Robinho loves me. So I'm used to dealing with superstar footballer sized egos.

And for all that, I come cheap. I'll work every hour that god sends, for a measly £2m a year.

;)

hey maybe your onto something there...maybe Garry Cook will come up with a new `project'!...instead of a manager, we, as a team, just have a trainer and coaches. The morning before each match we, as fans, all log on via net or phone and we can all vote on team selection, tactics, and subs. I can picture it now..Cook standing outside COMS "we took the decison that we wanted the fans to feel as one with the club..right down to helping to decide what goes on on the pitch.". In addition, those at the ground, each get a little remote pad with option buttons on, so during the match they can select subs/tactics etc...
"Manchester City..the first Democratically Managed Football Team" (TM).
nice.

hmmm...may have had too many beers.... :) i`ll get me coat...

Edit, I'm only actually halfway through my 6th season, but seen as I'm 13 points clear of Arsenal in 2nd place, and yet to lose a game, I think we can make that 6 soon enough.

You got my vote mate lol :-)

Alright, well I don't think all of the names being thrown out there are good choices.

Sven - No, no, no, a million times no, he's lost his touch, been there done that.
Klinnsman - I love the guy but no, he's not doing very well at Bayern.
Scolari - People on here a bitching about the Brazilians now, if you bring in Scolari we'd have a full team of them. Didn't even last a season at Chelsea anyway, I like him but he's overrated in my opinion.
Mancini - Sven clone.
Ancelotti - Wouldn't come.
Moyes - Has been given years to build a squad, which none of you are willing to do.
O'Neill - See above.

So that leaves us with Mourinho, Riijkaard, Hiddink, Jol, and Capello. I think. Unless I'm missing some. I'm just doing this of off memory.

Capello isn't going to leave the England job. Mourinho said he won't coach for us. Hiddink is going back to Russia, and if by chance he decides he wants to manage at club level, it's going to be with Chelsea.

So I guess that leaves Riijkaard and Jol.

Do you happen to have any quotes from the horses mouth where Mourinho has said he won't coach for us?

He is an egomaniac we are to small time for him he needs a big time team for his big time head. I have to admit don't know why but have strange feeling Hughes will still be manager next season BUT!!! If he does go I wouldn't mind Riijkaard or even Guillit they would both play a style of football that Elano and Robbie would like

Any body but the ex-rag.

I can't stand to watch his teams anymore. We are an embarrasment. £100M to produce a team worse than last season.

All we get are excuses. More time, more players, tiredness etc.

A good manager would have got those players into the top 7.
A good manager would have matched Svens points per game.
A good manager would not have lost at home against Fulham.
A good manager would have had a better away record.

ex-rag is useless and clueless.
he needs to go before he causes a City civil war.

He is an agent and he should go.

Bunch of pie in the sky suggestions. There is no fucking way that MON will leave Villa for us. Scolari did shite with Chelsea so he'd have no chance with us. The rest are a bunch of foreigners who have never managed in England before.

Mourinho might have the ego to take it on but I still don't think he'd bother at this stage.

What a shit thread, if that's the best you can do I don't know why you bothered.

If we get rid of hughes then an international manager has to come in, fuck moyes and o'neil, we need a proven quality experienced top manager, Jose fit the bill, it's amazing what money does, Jose would be in his element building his team with absolutely shit loads to spend, he will thribe off something like this.

I severely doubt Jose would come in at this stage. What does he have to prove to anyone? I think we need two managers - one to rebuikld from the bottom up and take us to 5th/6th place and then another to get us into the top 4. Jose would be much more interested in the latter opportunity.

I still believe that Hughes can be the first one but, if not then it would have to be Van Gaal. I'm also coming round to the idea of Jol. I love that guy.

Martin Jol. Though it's questionable whether he could handle the big players.

Van Gaal...no contest - above anyone - Mourinho, Ancelotti, whoever...

That man is the man who with a full summer, plus an unlimited budget, would have us in the top four next season playing the kind of football you'd expect from an Ajax man...
