I Know It’s Over

I am so glad it’s over. No pressure this season now! Get the flip flops out early and ignore everything football related…and breathe-:)

I love it when city get written off! We need adversity and adversaries to bring out the best.
 
No it's not over and it's silly to think otherwise.

The club do like to make things more difficult for themselves.

A pretty crappy transfer window has seen to that - that and KDB's injury but that's no ones fault.
 
You can never write this City side off. The consistency they’ve shown over the last 6 years is off the scale. The Mancini and Pellegrini years showed us just how hard it is to retain a title, this squad does it whilst improving as a team!

That said, I think we’ve been poor or average at best this season. We’ve rarely put in a decent 90 minute performance but are still only 6 points off the top. That’s factoring in the loss of KDB, suspensions of Rodri, loss of key players in the summer and inevitable hangover from the highs of last season.

We’ve also got a favourable run of fixtures up until January where we will see the return of KDB and hopefully bring in a player or two. It is definitely still all to play for!

Totally agree.have supported city since the early sixties. Have seen city at their lowest( yes york) as have many. People need to man up and get behind the team.we have had the privilege of watching the best football on the.planet in recent times. We are subjected on daily basis.to an unprecedented assault on the club and its supporters from a disgracefully biased press .tv.etc.know alls who actually know very little.no history. no fans. etc trust in pep.as I as a young man trusted in joe and malcolm.Ctid
 
City ‘have to beat’ Luton and Palace before they fly out for the World Club competition.

Arsenal play Villa and Liverpool in the next few weeks. Let’s see where Arsenal are then. If Arsenal win those 2 games then City are in a bit of trouble, even though it’s only December.

While they the other PL teams play each other in the cramped festive fixture list in a cold and wet December, City will be in a warm and sunny Saudi, playing a couple of games, hopefully winning the World Club cup. It will give the players time to recharge, relax, enjoy themselves, and refocus on the PL matches when they get back.

All is not lost yet for our 4th PL title on the run. It’s not going to be easy because there are 5 teams in the mix for the PL title atm, City Arsenal, Liverpool, Villa, Spurs. And Newcastle for a CL place.

We have to trust Pep and the players. They’ve been here and done it before from a similar position after a poor run of results in December.

KDB can’t come back soon enough. Get him, Stones and Rhodri playing in the same team and we’ll be OK, and Champions again, again, again, and again. :-)

Rodri’s ill discipline has really cost us this season. We are way too reliant on him. That mess of a midfield last night in both halves with different players illustrated how important he is. We really need to offload Phillips and get someone in.

If only we had a proven, combative midfielder that had done it at international level and we had seen play to a decent standard with our own eyes.
