How are you all eating ? I imagine you are all burning major calories so are having to eat more to compensate

For me I aim for 1500 cals, 300 cals per meal five times a day. You are supposed to increase for month 2 but I didn't as my main goal was weight loss, some people feel they see even more weight loss when they eat a little more, but instead I stuck to around 1500-1600 and didn't feel too bad if I wanted an extra banana or sliced apple with peanut butter or something. Or if the chicken I had was 5oz instead of 4oz. In general the meals that come with the insanity literature are easy to make and source bits for I found. T25 looks a little more restrictive, but maybe that is a good thing as it also promises you can make 25 meals from 5 ingredients or something, may get samey but I think as long as you stick to the principles of eating the right nutrients in your meals over the day then it is is the right direction.

Recovery drink is a must for me too, makes a big difference for me, but I count that as one of my meals also.

As for calorie burning, some reckon a session of insanity at around 55 mins can burn over 100 cals if you also count an added effect on metabolism. I can't imagine it is quite that many unless you are beating the guys on the dvd every session but it must be a fair few each time.

The Max interval/Plyo circuits in the 2nd month have me burning around 700cals per session according to my HRM. This is calculated pretty accurately as all of my vital stats are programmed into it. Who knows how many more I burn post workout....

An hour of Zumba for me burns about 400/ 500 calories in an hour and I know insanity is more intense so I could see 800 cals burned easily. I suppose you factor in intensity + time spent + weight to get a calorie deficit.

The fitter you get the less you burn.
I'd say if you went straight into month 2 of insanity you'd burn over 1000 cals quite easily!!

Definitely, although I say you have to be quite fit in the first place (or at least determined) to complete an insanity session

Done it, stuck with it for the whole 63 days, I've surprised myself with that alone.

In my case bobmcfc I'd definitely say it was determination, and pretty unexpected determination at that, as before Insanity I had not been to the gym for 3 years and probably did a couple of hikes in The Lakes in the summer but that is it. It becomes easier, not just the exercises (well, not really the exercises at all - they get harder!) but the planning and eating to fuel your body to do it, and I'm now in the position where I would actually prefer to stick with some of the meal suggestions and routine. I will be doing another round of Max Cardio and Insane Abs this week, I am actually looking forward to it. Madness. I'm certainly not super fit even now, but compared to where I was 63 days ago I am a million times better off, from the way I feel to what I can actually accomplish.

bluetonium congrats!

I'd say for your next round up your caloric intake.I did the 2nd month at 1800 calories. Your body will go into starvation mode if you don't get enough.

This past week I was pretty bad on my diet as I had meals to go to etc, and even yesterday I opted to have grilled steak and a baked potato for dinner(about 700 cals). I've found eating slightly more has pulled me out of a plateau and I'm dropping weight a bit faster again.

Down to 12.5 stone, that's 5 stone gone in 3 months. Just the 6 lbs to go and I'll be a happy lad :)

Enjoying the T-25 Alpha at the moment. Just done a double wammy today doing the Lower Focus and Cardio. The Lower Focus is tough half way through when you have to do the lunges but otherwise ok. I have found the Ab intervals the hardest up to now and was aching for days afterwards.
