Ireland Leaving - Absolute Disaster

Answer me this: why has Barry consitently kept his place despite playing shit for long periods and at times contributing fuck all to the team but Ireland has barely had a chance in comparison?

People talk about form and 'grabbing' chances but to be honest Barry has managed to somehow keep his place when he hasn't warranted it. I will say that Barry's form has picked up over the last few weeks after a poor winter and at the moment he is deserving of his place but for months he didn't deserve it.
Because Barry's poor form has been vastly over exagerated, im not saying he has been superb, but he's nothing like Ireland anyway, there not really comparible, the both play CM but are totally different players, Barry is a first choice starter for Capello, Hughes, Mancini and O'neill back at Villa, that suggests he clearly has lots to offer his team, just because he doesn't grab the headlines doesn't mean he isn't a good player.

I hope to fuck this wont happen, SI is home grown and we need home grown players at the club.
If this is SI's choice then there's not much you can do, you cant expect a manager to play a player because he says he will leave.

Just for the record I think he should be in the team more often than not.

If Ireland go's in the summer it will all kick off on here, dont think to many will give a fuck back in the real world on match day.

Probably because Barry is the only traditional midfielder("all rounder") at the club and the fact we've been playing with 2 upfront. Had M. Johnson been fit it may have been a different story.

I think Barry's poor form was over exaggerated here on BM tho tbf

why would city sell him to one of our rivals? its makes no sense. the only way city would let him join them would be a player plus cash deal i.e torres. as a straight sale its a definate no no.

cook and marwood would be shot otherwise

That's the beauty of City for me.

I can feel downhearted all week about the lads but as soon as I'm near COMS then my mindset changes, my focus shifts to just the game ahead of us and I can see clearly and lucidly.

Losing Ireland would be a huge loss but we've lost bigger players in the past and at least if we do part with Ireland it'll be mutual and not like years gone by where we had to say 'yes' to any offer that made financial sense.

For an all-rounder he creates very little and hardly ever scores. Jack-of-all-trades master of none springs to mind. Utterly pointless when he is playing alongside Zabaleta and De Jong in midfield. Anyway, that's getting off topic a bit. I appreciate what he can bring to a side and he has played alright the last few weeks.
