No, f*cked with my club.
- Bitter shot at the youth players.
- Attempt to destabilize new signing Milner with a "warning".
- Adding fuel to the media fire against our manager by saying he never talks to anyone.
- Saying there is no loyalty at our club.
In general a bitter tw@t who has completely grinded his heel into our club on leaving, showing 10% of the class Dunney did when he left.
I'm guessing you're part of IrishMacca's Irish Mafia if you can completely ignore all of the above and put Ireland above our club's reputation and wellbeing.
Glad he's gone seeing what sort of person he is. We've replaced him with a proper player - who backs up his obvious talent with a stronger mentality than lickle Stevie has. I can see what Mancini is doing.
bitter, bitter rag.
joking :p
I just about agree with every signle post of yours, and his cheap shot at youth players was a disgrace
Took this from a blog on newsnow this morning..
Stephen Ireland rips everyone at Man City, is kind of a hypocrite
By Brooks Peck
It's no secret that Stephen Ireland's split from Man City wasn't filled with gumdrops and dancing nymphs. Going from the club's Senior Player of the Year (and Greater Manchester Player of the Year) in 2009 to someone who couldn't buy a full 90 minutes under Roberto Mancini obviously isn't a pleasant experience. But just in case there was anyone out there who wasn't sure exactly how awful Ireland thinks everyone at the club is, he was sure to make it clear during his first press conference with Aston Villa.
Ireland began by taking a poke at James Milner, who was so desperate to jump into the pool Stephen wanted to climb out of (via the Guardian):
"I think Aston Villa got a really good deal," he said. "I guess James Milner must think the grass is greener on the other side. He's going to get a shock soon because it's definitely not that way."
You see where this is going, right?
"I've really landed on my feet here. I think it's a family club and one that will get the best out of me. I am actually shocked at how good it is. I've settled in so well, so fast. Even the young lads are so polite. I'm actually quite shocked with that. At City they're not like that. They're coming in with £10,000 watches on their wrists and walking around as if they have played 200 Premier League games."
Keep in mind that Ireland said this with a diamond in each ear. This is also a man who was reportedly considered installing a shark tank in his kitchen floor. And exhibit C...
( exhibit c is a pic of stevies black and pink bling rover )
Oh, and for the record, Ireland has yet to play 200 Premier League games himself. Moving on!
"I don't think loyalty is much in anyone's mind at Manchester City," he said. "I felt like I would be next [to leave]. A lot of players felt like that as well – the homegrown guys. [...]
"[Mancini] doesn't really build relationships with players. He brought Patrick Vieira in and when I spoke to him about his relationship [with Mancini], he said he doesn't really have one, and he's worked for him for years. I think that's the way he is."
Well he's not your dad, Stephen. He's your boss. Sure, it's nice to develop bonds with the people you work with, but still. He's the person you work for.
And finally, there's this:
"I'm not really a highly-self-confident person," he said, with no hint of what was to come. "But I can honestly say Manchester City have tried to replace me for the last three or four seasons and it's never happened. I can easily say I've got, if not more ability, as much ability as any player they have signed this year."
But he's not really a highly-self-confident person!
