Is it true Aguero can't be banned? (Update P43)

Meltdown. <a class="postlink" href="http://www.redcafe.net/f7/aguero-238929/index11.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.redcafe.net/f7/aguero-238929/index11.html</a>

Hypocritical cunts, I bet they weren't doing much complaining when Rooney got off for elbowing that Wigan player.

Hand-off? You mean elbow.
How is that an elbow? There is no force in his arm at all, he bounced off Aguero immediately and it was nowhere near his face - it was actually below his shoulders... I don't see how you call that an elbow and what Yaya and Kompany were doing was fine. The answer is they're all fine. You're allowed to protect the ball with your body. This is a contact sport.

Castiel, I actually agree with you on that in that passage of play the elbow Luiz threw could be deemed as him trying to get his whole body to block Aguero from the ball. I have no clue about all these little digs that were supposed to have gone on before but in that instance you cannot see anything that he can be banned for. I'm very shocked but very happy that Sergio isn't going to be banned but I do not like to see that from our players at all and I hope the two of them can have a discussion and sort it out so there is no bad blood.

I remember a similar incident when anelka headbutted Ashley Cole, he wasn't that sort of player either but the red mist came down. I'm sure they are good mates now, it happens

Well Aguero certainly made contact. You won't see me shed any tears for Luiz he has been crunching players for years and he's had something like this coming.

What I always seem to realise/learn everytime something like this happens is that so many called fans know the square root of fuck all when it comes to football

Yes, directly before the challenge. He throws an amazingly cynical elbow pretty much designed to get Aguero in the face or force him to stop running. This is why Aguero was so mad. His actions were stupid but not entirely unprovoked, Luiz definitely threw an elbow and was frustrating the shit out of aguero all game with similar tactics. Not an excuse for his behavior, however.

Talk about hyperbole. If you think anything Luiz does in that gif is wrong, then you'd have to agree Yaya, Kompany and Zab at least all deserved reds several times over in that game. It was a completely unjustified retaliation to a simple hand off however you look at it. He better score a hat-trick against Spurs now and I hope he at least apologised in the dressing room because that was out of character according to everything the public knows about him. I understand frustration but you don't react like that.

I don't think it's hyperbole, obviously. Players ride one another off due to position all the time, it's seldom done by throwing a jabbing elbow. Aguero's reaction is completely over the top, but I disagree that Kompany and Zabaleta use their elbows like that consistently.

To be clear, it was a completely unjustified retaliation, I agree with you, but I think it's very clear that Aguero felt Luiz threw a dangerous elbow and I can certainly see why he felt that way. As I said, Luiz was also very physical with him all game, so I suspect Sergio was in a frame of mind to see that elbow as more of the same.

Luiz is a dirty bastard, he's always flinging his elbows every single game. How he's got away with it so far is a mystery. That said, Sergio shouldn't have reacted the way he did and it was a straight red no question. I will say that he was obviously infuriated with Luiz and that's why he saw the red mist. It's the first time I've ever seen him react like this and it was completely out of character.
The rake down the back of Sergios leg by Torres in contrast was completely cynical and just as deserving as a red card. You could argue that it was worse because it was pre meditated rather than a moment of madness like Aguero.
