Is it true Aguero can't be banned? (Update P43)

Hand-off? You mean elbow.
How is that an elbow? There is no force in his arm at all, he bounced off Aguero immediately and it was nowhere near his face - it was actually below his shoulders... I don't see how you call that an elbow and what Yaya and Kompany were doing was fine. The answer is they're all fine. You're allowed to protect the ball with your body. This is a contact sport.
That's not protecting the ball with your body, that's slamming an elbow into the opponent with considerable force

Yes, directly before the challenge. He throws an amazingly cynical elbow pretty much designed to get Aguero in the face or force him to stop running. This is why Aguero was so mad. His actions were stupid but not entirely unprovoked, Luiz definitely threw an elbow and was frustrating the shit out of aguero all game with similar tactics. Not an excuse for his behavior, however.

Talk about hyperbole. If you think anything Luiz does in that gif is wrong, then you'd have to agree Yaya, Kompany and Zab at least all deserved reds several times over in that game. It was a completely unjustified retaliation to a simple hand off however you look at it. He better score a hat-trick against Spurs now and I hope he at least apologised in the dressing room because that was out of character according to everything the public knows about him. I understand frustration but you don't react like that.
Watching the 30 minute highlights on our OS, there are at least 3 separate occasions when Luiz elbows Sergio. As other fans have said since, it's something Luiz does and gets away with very often.

Doesn't fully excuse what Sergio did but it makes it slightly more understandable. Frustration got the better of the man.

What I always seem to realise/learn everytime something like this happens is that so many called fans know the square root of fuck all when it comes to football
Like who
The people on ragcafe, skysports, glory glory etc etc etc
Probably add every online paper with comments sections some porn sites and readers digest

They all want our players hung drawn and quartered for the same shite they defend their own players for doing. At least we can call a spade a spade in this instance

Luiz is a dirty bastard, he's always flinging his elbows every single game. How he's got away with it so far is a mystery. That said, Sergio shouldn't have reacted the way he did and it was a straight red no question. I will say that he was obviously infuriated with Luiz and that's why he saw the red mist. It's the first time I've ever seen him react like this and it was completely out of character.
The rake down the back of Sergios leg by Torres in contrast was completely cynical and just as deserving as a red card. You could argue that it was worse because it was pre meditated rather than a moment of madness like Aguero.
Remember when they played Brentford? He nearly sent a Bees player into the middle of next week with a body check. Dirty fucker, but that doesn't excuse Kun.

If it mattered enough to me I'd go get gifs of Kompany and Yaya doing the same, if not worse and be interested to see how it's justified in that case (at one point Kompany wiped Mata clean out with a shoulder barge after he nutmegged him) - but it doesn't. He escaped the ban and you're going to get enough grief about it in the media anyway, if I know the media.

There'll be a dozen pro footballers applauding Sergio for gettin' in their retaliation. Luiz has done a few in his time and always seems to get away with it. Bloody laughable that he comes the 'holier than Sergio' caper. Yer got a stamp on yer arse got yer threw a fuckin' pointy elbow

Absolutely delighted that Kun is to face no further action. Have to say though, that the FA's disciplinary procedures are a joke. It was a red card, as was Luiz's elbow into his chest. As was Rooney's two footed lunge last monday. As was MacManaman's assault on the Newcastle player a few weeks back. As was, was was, as was etc etc (repeat and rinse).
What elbow? I've heard people say this before, are you referring to what he did directly before the challenge or was there another one?

Yes, directly before the challenge. He throws an amazingly cynical elbow pretty much designed to get Aguero in the face or force him to stop running. This is why Aguero was so mad. Been watching the game again before and thought out the match Luiz is man marking Sergio and if you look Luiz is constantly in his ear and giving him little digs and he also gives Aguero an elbow in the chest before aguero goes in two footed
The challenge is still a bad one and sergio is lucky not to get a ban but ive never seen sergio react like that before so maybe Luiz isnt as innocent as hes making out to be and he was winding Sergio up though out the game

Shoulder barge = throwing elbows

Nice logic

Me and Serg just lol'd at the agenda. ;-)

Kinell, pidge. You never give up on the only two weapons in your armoury: outright pedantry and unthinking obstinacy. You got minced on the agenda thread by the utter poverty of your case.

Sergio got lucky. Now please tell me how that disproves press bias towards the rags.
