Its a good job some of the tarts on here aren't in charge of running an Emirate, like errr....... Abu Dhabi. Why the F**k would they sack a man who won us the title....5 months ago.

For F**ks sake, grow a set, accept defeat like a man/woman and look forward to retaining our title and 3 great games against 3 champions of Europe.

Yes we should've probably beat Ajax tonight, we didn't.....Dortmund are a fantastic team who played excellent on the night at our place and they beat Real tonight, we were unlucky in Madrid not to get a point.

Take solice in the fact that all 3 of the teams in our group would rip them lot a new one, they're all very very good well organised teams who are hard to beat, its not as if we're playing Irlam Town and conceeding 2 goals at home nar is it.

I'd settle for 5 more premier titles and have Mancini for his full contract of five years then see where we are, the premier for me is what gives me the buzz and the ammo to whined up rags

I guess some people just don't get it. Most of the people in here are just happy that we're in the CL at all, and ecstatic that we won the league.

Problem is: We've had nearly a billion pounds dumped into the club, and winning league games to piss off the rags isn't what that money was for. If the owners get the impression that the CL is a bridge to far for Mancini, then he's going to be updating his CV here soon.

so are we just meant to win the champions league like that ???? straight away, its gonna take time most clubs have only ever won it won or twice in there whole history.

No, I think it's the intermediate step of getting out of the group and maybe winning a match in the knock-out stage. Nice straw man, though.

Unfortunately it is true, he sucks in Europe. He would get fired lot sooner at Inter if he would fail in group stages. He reached the quarter finals 2-3 times but no more.

Here quarter final would be a dream after all these performances.
Will he get better? Dont think so.

It's not like he has to beat Real, Bayern, Barca to be succesful.
He has to beat Ajax, Napoli, Dortmund, Villarreal so far.
We could only beat Villarreal last year but do you know they were so shit last year that they got relegated from La Liga? That says a lot about them.

We played 4 matches against Ajax, Napoli, Dortmund and all he could get is 2 points at home, and the Dortmund match was a big fail, only saved by a late handball penalty after a Joe Hart special show.

The question is will the owners remain patient if he keeps getting domestic succes but fails big time in Europe.

Dont forget the difference between CL group and knock-out stages is 8-10 m pounds. Even is you finish in the first round of the knock-out ties. If you go 1-2 rounds it is 10-15 m more income. + more home games, more ticket income etc., being a real factor in CL provides greater chances for better sponsor deals.

So will the owners be OK with domestic success=winning the league but nothing in the CL?

And will there be any domestic success? It is not like Mancini's years at Inter where he won the league 3 ties in a row but their biggest rival was AS Roma.
Not really the level of Chelsea's or United's.
(Juventus was in Serie B, like Napoli, Milan was concentrating on CL).

But winning the league is very hard many times in a row. In this league especially.

But these group stage fails are horrible.

Someone wrote Wenger never won it, but how many times he failed in the group stage. He is at Arsenal since 1996 maybe he lead Arsenal in the CL more than 10 seasons dont think they failed in the group stages more than once.
Chelsea didnt fail in the group stage since Abra. They failed to win it unitl last year but they played CL final, CL semi finals, quarter finals earlier. That is a different kind of fail...
United failed in the group stage two times in 15 years.

Show me when Arsenal, Cheslea or the Shite have had the champions of Spain, Germany and Holland in their group. If we'd have had Braga, Clunge and The Mauldeth in our group we'd have pissed it as well!

Tell me when any of those clubs failed to get out of the group stage two years on the trot with a 250M pound squad, and the highest paid manager in England?

Answer: None of them.

We all know if Mancini was sacked this summer, and Mourinho was brought it, we'd make it to the groups easily. I base my assertions on history.

The story is that the Sheikh wanted Mourinho at any cost this summer but Khaldoon stuck by his mate.
