First and foremost I am a Mancini supporter and continue to be. What is unacceptable is saying 'I prepared badly for this game'. He has used term before on at least one occasion but to use it tonight is just not good enough. I don't know if he genuinely did or he's covering for the players. Either way I don't like it. This game could have made, but has ultimately broken our CL hopes for this season. Disappointed is an understatement.

We have gone backwards, no question.

Certain players don't look fit or particularly interested to me. Kompany and Toure for starters.

Someone else on a different thread made a good point about players possibly feeling let down by the poor transfer window. Could be something in this. We should have kicked on, we didn't.

Yer but there's only one Jose and at the moment he's busy with a bigger club than us, so your theory is caput, because only Jose could improve our positition short term. Anyone else would take time and no doubt more money. I would give Mancini another go next year.

I agree with your assertion that if the plug was pulled it would have to be a definite step up, and as you rightly say Mourinho is one of the few. I believe Mourinho has his eyes on an EPL return, and he has a habit of taking on clubs in excellent positions financially or in their squads...

That, or I think Guardiola could certainly fit the bill, and he's untethered.
