Is the age for consensual sex (16) too high?

1. When I was 15 i thought yes its too high.

2. Now my daughter is 15 i think it should be 21.

3. No not imprisonment, handed to his parents trussed up with a sign round your neck saying "but he said i could"

Any 15 year old is going to have urges. All I'm asking is that if we truly live in a free society, instead of repressing these urges (possibly leading to depression), shouldn't we encourage the children to express them sexually?

While this subject has been brought up, i do have to share something....

A few days ago i was watching one of the American news channels on Sky. Somebody's house had been broken in to. Didn't quite catch who it was....

but they kept showing a picture of a broken glass door and they kept saying 'she had her front door smashed in'. It was brilliant. I thought i was watching a Chris Morris spoof.

I'd say maybe 18 should be set as a guideline. And keep 16 as the law. It would be too difficult to implement any change now. Lowering it would be silly. For one there are too many people out there looking to exploit young kids. And in the end they are kids. Believe me I've spoken online to some depraved people.

A 49yo bloke with a 15 year old should be in prison. What the hell is a man of that age doing chasing someone so young. Of course there are sometimes other things to it such as if the lad was in a nightclub and approached the 49yo.
Same as with the girls you see out nowadays who turn out to be sometimes 14. They dress older go to places that have age restrictions etc.

As for the Vatican it's the youngest in Europe. There is actually an African country which lists the age of consent as puberty.
