Judging by Perez's quotes it looks like there's a lot of truth in that pact we supposedly agreed with them. They look to be leaving the way clear for us to sign Isco and Cavani, happy days :)

Hope that's true and he's not just being a prick and bullshitting us all.

the days are gone when Madrid ran the show. huge name still but cant compete financially and know we can be twats if need be and jump prices up! add to the Spanish economy and madrids debts then we are the it.

They can sign almost anyone because they know a big signing will earn back the fee through shirt sale etc. They are a worldwide club that challenge for every competition, I still expect them to spend loads of money this window

So Navas has been confirmed and the Fernandinho deal is apparently done. I can't honestly say that I've seen too much of Isco, but SURELY some players have to make way to accommodate this guy if we've already added 2 attacking midfielders to the squad.

Again, this is not a 'why do we need another xxx' thread, as from what I hear, Isco is a top player, but we bleat on about consistency within the camp and it just seems to me that we're adding 3 midfielders to the club when in reality there are only a limited number of places with Yaya, Silva, Barry, Milner, Rodwell, Garcia, Nasri already competing - is this not going to breed petulance and discontent at lack of playing time at some point?

It pains me to say it but United have got it right with a balance of 'stars' and 'support' players in the past...I'm not a huge fan of Cleverly, Carrick, etc but they know their place. No egos you're almost guaranteed that they won't moan and bring disharmony into the squad if they don't play. Brought in by from lesser teams and can't believe their luck when one of the top 4 comes in for them.

I get the feeling that by adding more and more and more 'stars' to a competitive squad, at some point there's going to be some backfire and what looks like a world beating squad on paper won't be performing optimally on the pitch.

Hopefully Pelligrini has the masterplan to get around this.

*gets tin hat*...

Really think this one will happens as well. Navas being the pacy skillfull winger who plays on the right. Isco being the one who plays more on the left. Exciting...hopefully Isco will be done soon. Really think with Txiki in charge we can get most (if not all) signings done before the pre-season.

His facial expressions and body language on that recent Sky clip that was posted tell me he's signing for us.

He looked like a teenage lad who knows he's about to get his dick sucked by the fittest woman at school.

More pace. More crosses.

Well I would imagine that players will be sold at some point once we establish our regular playing staff under Pellegrini and of Isco, Navas, Fernandinho, Yaya, Silva, Barry, Milner, Rodwell, Garcia, Nasri how many are 'egos' who moan and create disharmony? Maybe Nasri and Yaya from that list.

Fergie always gave his players the mentality of champions and even their lesser players such as Cleverley, Wellbeck, Young, Valencia, etc would be inspired by that (although I would say that they were carried by better players). I might be proved wrong but I don't see Moyes having the same effect on them. I've seen plenty of games under Fergie where they have been well beaten by better quality teams but it's always been about how they respond to defeat. After the 1-6 they went on a crazy run of wins. Will Moyes be able to get that out of them?

If Moyes has a few less than pleasing results the rags will be right on his back from day 1. He has a lot to live up to.

Utd over the last couple of years have been well beaten or outplayed by us, Chelsea and countless teams in Europe. They struggle against quality because quality wins in most cases. The secret of their success has been beating the lesser teams and that's where we could learn from them.

Having a world class squad isn't the problem, look at Bayern.

Pretty sure Garcia will be moved on, I'm sure i've read that Pellegrini sold him within a month of landing the Real Madrid job.

what length of a contract is Garcia on? Im pretty sure he will go down as one of our signings that is hard to shift, mainly because he is probably earning double here that he would earn anywhere else. If that is the case we should send him on loan somewhere and insist that he plays centre back, as he sure as hell doesn't have the tools to be a top midfielder.
