Isco

Sublime? Not tonight. You have to also remember that this is at U-21 level too

Still would have been absolutely fine with players like Silva & Aguero playing around him.

He was used to take players away from the rest of the midfield today & when he did come inside, they all came to him, it worked. Thiago got 2 from open play, the first a direct result of the defence watching Isco.
He played OK. I'd like to see City sign him, but tonight was not his best game of the tournament.

There's also a big difference between u-21s and the Premiership. Players like Borini have done well in the U-21s but been anonymous in the Premiership

Simple and obvious point, but if Isco came to City, we shouldn't expect him to be able to dictate and control games in the Premiership in the same way he has at the U-21s.

So your saying that the Spanish league isn't upto PL standard?

Hasn't he just been vote their version of young player of the year.

He had a job to do tonight and that was to keep Rossi and Verratti busy - he did that. Showed a few nice touches in a fairly average performance, but that doesn't take the shine off how fantastic he's been throughout the tournament.

Looking forward to him hopefully signing for us in a week or so.

One of the reasons why the Cavani transfer is in the balance is because of the prohibitive price tag. Surely the reason we're in for Isco is that he's a special talent with the potential to become a player that in 3 to 4 years will have a similar prohibitive tag. If we get in there now we're on a winner, not just in the short term but also in any future sale.

People keep saying that we should buy players before they reach such huge fees; hopefully that will be the case with Isco, even if the price we pay now is around the £25 million mark. If he progresses at the rate which is expected, then the club will see a decent return on their investment (if he ever wants to leave God's own).

He said he would decide his future after the U21s were over, they are now over but common sense dictates this decision won't be made for another 48 to 72 hours he will be on the piss IMO.

How has Borini done well in this tournament? He has been shite. Isco created the most chances in the tournament and netted four goals. What more do you want him to do exactly to impress you?
