Pelle's first official day so I wouldn't look much further than that.

Re: Isco (Part 8 (weekend saga part 3))

Right i've caught up now, got to go to the Gym soon so please don't add another 100 pages to the thread. Its been a rollercoaster on here and its one of the best reads for a long time. Tell you what though, i'm glad none of you did any negotiations on my behalf.

I think Isco/City is panning out different than some of the other sagas quoted on here such as Sanchez, Hazard etc. It looks like we really want the boy and hopefully thats reciprocated. I don't have a sense of impending doom on this one as the others. My reason, the club seem to be really quiet on this one, no leaks or briefs for the press to pick up on that we have lost interest as there was with Cavani, Sanchez & Hazard. I sense a quiet determination to get this one over the line. Isco to City is my call but towards the end of the week rather than early this week.

Not heard a dicky bird to be honest.

Dicky Bird Estate is in Bury = We've buried the hatchet with Madrid and Isco is on his way?
Haha. You just reminded me - I was out a couple of weeks ago in Cheshire and saw a car with registration "HAV 1T". Wasn't you was it?

does this mean anything?

does any post mean anything in this thread? Somebody mentioned it so I passed it on. More than likely at the Etihad for Manuel's first day.

Re: Isco (Part 8 (weekend saga part 3))

And now the pendulum of hope is swinging back towards us again....

I'll say around 3/4pm when we hear a tweet or something not in our favour, then around 7ish we'll have some news that gives us further false hope hahaha! Well funny all this!

Re: Isco (Part 8 (weekend saga part 3))

The position is this

RM have placed a Bid with Malaga which has been accepted.

RM have taken ISCO's "Team" to El Buey for Dinner and proivded them with Steak and Rioja.

Malaga and ISCO's "Team" are now waiting for Tixi and Chappers to take them to the Crusty Cob for a pie and carton of Ribena.

City are just making sure they have all the details and chairs in place for the prezzer before wrapping this deal up within a few hours.

The sticking point apparently is negotiating with Isco if he can get his luggage into Carry on for the Ryanair flight to Manchester this afternoon due to the price of check in bags.

In all seriousness, Its in Citys court, and they are keeping mum and doing the deal in a professional manner. The Shiek needs to ring up with the three digit security number on the back of his Solo card.

Maybe they are both there ;)

That's how ideally it should be. Otherwise it is tapping up. We can technically accuse Real Madrid of tapping up Isco.

It doesn't actually matter which way round things go does it ?

In the end, Isco has to be willing to sign for City & Malaga have to accept an offer from us. We can talk to them without putting it in writing & then make it official when we are the highest bidder & Isco agrees to sign.

If Isco won't sign for us, we have nothing to gain by bidding.

Pretty sure it does matter.
If a club is offering a player this and that, and making promises to the player. That can lead to the player forcing the move, and possibly even reducing the fee, even of the club doesn't want to sell.
Not saying its happened here, but its not the done thing to be luring players without the clubs permission.

You would be correct if the club hasn't given permission to talk to Isco, but they have probably given that permission to both City & Real.

Re: Isco (Part 8 (weekend saga part 3))

This thread does weird things to your thinking: I've never even seen isco kick a ball and I wouldn't recognise him if he wandered down my street and bit me, but I'm desperate for us to sign him...!

Re: Isco (Part 8 (weekend saga part 3))

Didn't Isco only go on holiday on Friday? I doubt he'd cut his holiday short to go anywhere to sign anything.

He also said he would let people know his decision yesterday. I think. Don't hold me to that. This has been twisty.

If I had to venture a guess after putting as many pieces together as possibly (at least half of which are likely false) I would guess... and this is just a guess... that the truth is that Malaga prefers Madrid's offer but Isco wants City, so there's an impasse. I'm not saying that's an original idea. I've seen it suggested even by possible ITKs, but it does fit what the situation seems to be.
