City chief angry with Isco

Manuel Pellegrini is reportedly angry that Isco has performed a U-turn to snub Manchester City for Real Madrid to secure more money.

The new City boss was poised to welcome Isco to the Etihad Stadium this summer after reports in Spain suggested the highly-rated Spanish playmaker wanted to follow his former Malaga coach to the Premier League this summer.

Isco's reasoning for snubbing a chance to stay in Spain with Madrid was because he viewed Pellegrini as a father-figure and would have a better chance of regular first-team football at City in the build up to next summer's World Cup finals in Brazil. However, the situation appears to have changed over the weekend with Spanish publication El Confidencial reporting that Real Madrid have moved to offer Malaga 27 million euros and Isco a better deal to ensure he rejects a move to City and stays put in La Liga. And, as the player has previously stated that he wanted to get the best possible deal for cash-strapped Malaga, it appears that he will move to the Bernabeu in this transfer window.

It has led to an angry response from Pellegrini after City had worked hard to virtually tie up a deal for Isco. And with Real Madrid looking set to win the race for Napoli striker Edinson Cavani, the Chilean tactician will now have to go back to the drawing board to find alternative targets with Liverpool hitman Luis Suarez linked on Sunday.

Clubcall? Fuck me, didn't realise they still existed. I remember getting a bollocking at work back in about 1990 for spending ages on their premium rate 0898 MCFC phone line! Think it was 38p a minute peak and 25p a minute at all other times back then lol.

Anyone seriously saying we are interested in Suarez can't be believed IMO. I just ciuld not imagine our club wanting him....I could see the Sheik stomaching Rooney before Suarez.

I can see Suarez given serious consideration

Re: Isco (Part 8 (weekend saga part 3))

did I just see a quote from clubcall??

is it still going,it was an 0845 number wasn`t it when you rang it and it cost something ridiculous like 50p/min..

anyway back to isco, has anybody from our club actually come out and said we`ve made a bid for him or is it just people/papers/websites/twats on twitter making shit up??

I`ve yet to hear officially that we`ve bid for him....

Re: Isco (Part 8 (weekend saga part 3))

Sounding more like Isco is concerned about his old Club Malaga as they need the money, Real have offered more than us it seems so he's off to Real to help out his old club financially.

How do you know Real offered more than us when it's not even been clarified how much we have bid for him?

There's been so many things said that, i'm pretty sure the other day something was said about our offer as people were telling us to break the bank for him but we wouldn't budge.

That wouldn't have been the Spanish media sources that are attempting to undermine City's bid for him now, would it?

I'd take no notice of them; they don't know how much City have offered.

It seems our rumoured "non agression agreement" with RM was partly to ensure we didnt have to pay Malaga the full buy out.

Although we were told yesterday that we had matched the fee now.

Hope the info was correct.
