Do we need a 'Wow' signing? I'd prefer a few shrewd buys, and any one big signings to be made only if big players leave.

Buying someone like RvP would be considered a big signing, but in reality he will never have a season like he did at Arsenal, he carried the team. The only reason he got the golden boot is because everything had to go through him. I personally think money could be spent better elsewhere as opposed to 30 mil on a playing approaching the twilight of his career and who would want to bleed us dry in terms of wages.

We need a winger. Desperately. We are one of the few top clubs on Europe without a winger consistently in the the starting XI.

Yeah agreed should of included that an out and out winger is necessary, but if we I really feel we will struggle to accommodate another £30 million player. Starting line up is a 4-2-2-2, I agree we need to have a plan B, but I just don't know if a 30 mil signing is willing to do what essentially Johnson has done this season, come of the bench and hug the touchline.

If we got a winger who could be trusted to put in a shift for the full 90 minutes (which sort of discounts AJ) I could see us starting up sometimes against 'park the bus sides' with a couple of wide players (Hazard plus one of Silva/Nasri playing wide - AJ as impact sub) with Dzeko up front and Aguero playing in the hole. That's one reason the the scum nearly always win against weaker teams by exploiting wing play although they don't really have a targetman forward.

We're being linked with Yann M'Vila now. Thought it was supposed to be a done deal he was going to Arsenal. Looks like his agent is using City's name to bump up the offer?

There were reports circulating last week that Paddy V had gone to speak to M'Vila and by all accounts we are looking for a new CM
Saw that last week but dismissed it as it didn't seem to be verified. However, if Nigel is sold and with Barry not getting any younger, then there is possibly an opening

M'Vila looks a bit short of pace and rather one-footed on his vids

It'll be interesting to see what happens to De Jong because apparently Mancini was impressed by De Jong attitude over the last few months of the season. May get a reprieve me thinks

Look no further than Tiote

Well to escape the same bland transfer rumours, Galatasaray want talks with City next week over a £4million move for Weiss according to one of the Turkish papers.

Said this all along. Ideally Martinez but if not then Tiote. Played with Yaya for Ivory Coast and links up play from defense to attack pretty well, solid player and one that would relish a chance at the big time. Maybe send AJ there in a swap + cash?

Tiote's a good player but in a game which would've taken Newcastle very close to CL qualification, he went missing.

Imo he's very over rated... I admit I've only seen him about 5 times but he seemed to give away the ball for fun in every game.
