It's pretty obvious that what the guy you replied to was talking about the role at the bottom of midfield, not actually being the next Yaya, but I have to say your response is a weird one.


He's certainly currently one of the best in his role in the world. He's exceptionally good technically and he's got a decent habit of scoring goals and splitting defences with through balls.

Yaya, remember, was still at Olympiakos at Fabinho's age, and a shadow of the player he would go on to become.

So he's technically gifted, gets forward from the base of midfield, has vision for a pass and is going to probably play in the same position.

I don't know why anyone would say he can't be "the new Yaya" as much as I dislike that way of talking about players as "the new ...."
