It's Quiet - a new dawn

I'm no in the know, but a good friend of mine owns the company that built and sold City Suites. He's a huge blue and has been incredibly successful here and in the UAE.

When Pep was interested in the place he's now bought, my mate was very keen to do the deal himself.

He mainly met and dealt with Mrs Pep, she gave him the indication that they didn't want to be disrupting the kids schooling and they'd be around for at least 5 years.

Rummours of a contract extension would indicate this too.

My mate did say Guardiola was very intense but was receptive to a bit of a chat about football, said to expect some big moves. Said he loved Aubamayang & Griesman. This was Christmas time and pre Mbappe's incredible development.

I don't expect us to sign any of those, but cheers for the posts. Gives great optimism.
Mrs pep said anything about Messi?

I thought this summer would pass quickly after the signing of B. Silva. I still believe that Ederson, Walker and Mendy will arrive but if we do not get the Fabinho there are still 2 positions that need strengthening - DM and a CB . It would be a mistake to relying on Kompany to stay fit and we saw how bad we played without him. I know we wasting big this summer but we better do a full job and find a class DM and a CB

Our transfers barring one are pretty much in the bag already barring some paperwork

Walker - done deal, confirmed by @MCRJON

Mendy - done deal, seemingly unannounced due to international obligations but likely also PR for Monaco, among other things. Confirmed by multiple sources in England and France including Sam Lee and Bouhafsi.

Ederson - done deal, announcement probably today or tomorrow, confirmed by basically everyone, including the Beeb, to either have had or be having his medical in Manchester.

That leaves Sanchez, which I'm going to guess is the one that will drag on a bit. I reckon we're close here, but there will be many mitigating circumstances that will cause Arsenal to drag their feet, least of all Wenger's impending extension.

Those are the named targets that we know of, plus some discussion on Fabinho who appears to be either shelved, on the back burner or not a target this window.

That being the case, there still remains a number of question marks over key positions, least of all CB. It's one position Pep himself has stated, quite categorically, that we'll be bringing in talent for. We are linked somewhat to Bonucci, Van Dijk and Laporte, though none of them seem likely for various reasons.
At DM, the only thing we know is that Yaya has extended. We've been linked to Carvalho, but he gets that every year and, if I were putting money on it, I'd say he's staying in Portugal.

All in though, it's not even June yet and we've grabbed the transfer window by the balls. We've locked up the prize of the window in Bernardo, but behind the scenes Txiki already has nailed on a GK/LB/RB. An extension to Pep and a few more through the door in the next few weeks would be perfect.

wouldnt too many new players disbalance the playing set. I know we have to buy in some critical positions but too many is not that good. as wenger says buying more than 4 players is like a new set of players playing.
now its down to pep to gel those players and do it quickly.

I reckon there are at least 6 players coming in (including Bernardo Silva). We definitely need a goalkeeper, a right back, a left back, and at least a centre half or defensive mid (probably both), so we need to buy 4 or 5 players no matter. However, when players like Sanchez are available you can't really pass them up.

The quantity of players isn't that big of an issue if we can get them in early, roughly before the end of June, so when the transfer window actually opens (1st July) we're all set and ready for pre-season.

Wow, just imagine, in a few years we could be hoofing up the park, become Europa league giants, while being on the verge of the top 4. I'm feeling so fucking giddy, I probably won't be able to sleep.
;-) ;-)

I've definitely heard more 'oil' comments and 'cheque book manager' shite being spouted recently. Mainly from rags.

Basically we are full on overhauling this squad and it's long overdue. We have released the dead wood and I'm sure others will follow. We are addressing the problem positions, and all with young, top quality talent.

It's also being over seen by Pep who will likely sign an extension.

People are absolutely terrified.
