Simple....leave the Evans deal on the table, see how we go with the purchase of mbappe/Sanchez. We will already have other centre half targets so say we know we ain't getting a forward we then go to the top of the list for centre halves and work our way down it with the 200m in our back pockets from not being able to buy a forward.
Serious questions would have to be asked if we didn't get either of our forward targets and still signed Evans!

Think u misunderstood. W are told that we are going for a cheap centre half due to money needed elsewhere... IF we don't use that money for the forwards ( not saying we would be at fault there) surely we don't need to scrape the bottom of the barrel and sign Evans and use that money to actually sign a top class centre half? If we are offering north of 100m at least for Mbappe and we don't use it,wecould use 50-6m of that to sign a top class defender
