No, if Grealish replaces Fernandinho, Haaland replaces Aguero, to bring in a third player somebody needs to leave to make room. We are at the maximum of 21 as far as I remember. One in one out.

He was yesterday asking Sterling, Cancelo, Mendy and Torres to make up the defensive shortcoming of that midfield, they weren't up to it.

That says to me our quality isn't quite as deep as those big names suggest.

Pep is challenging players to prove him wrong, show their ability to adapt.

Kind of proves my point really, with Fernandinho going, an injury to Rodri really screws us over. I just don’t see another AM being a priority signing. If we sign a top quality striker that’s one less place in the starting line up for our long list of attacking midfielders already at the club and probably whinging about lack of game time. Happy to be corrected if Pep sees it differently.

Probably, the question then is do we bring in another left back though. As I see it every position will be one out one in. Haaland / Aguero. Mendy / left Back. Fernandinho /Grealish seems the odd one. To me anyway.

Nah, he’s got to stay for comedy value, the only bright spot of yesterday was watching him get continually owned by Reece James.

I don’t think we need a left back this summer, hence why maybe we would look to buy Mendes then leave him at Sporting for the year and offset the money into next season’s budget.

We would be fine with Zinchenko, Cancelo, Ake and Laporte.
