Not needy, I want my club to be at their very best competing in all competitions. I don't care if Kane didn't come, the money was insane, the age and injury were a concern. Same for Ronaldo, couldn't care less, we can make it work. Fair enough.

We clearly need a left back and a defensive midfielder, if not now then next summer for sure. This is a good opportunity to sign a young talent available for not too much on the market, address a need and get your recruitment done early, saves us trouble. How will it look next summer when we have to go for 3 positions? Because I can guarantee you it will be impossible as the market prices are insane.
 
PSG are building a elite team fuck. Hopefully they capitulate in the champions league again but they have added leaders.

they allow pep to ascertain if the player has the potential to adapt to the system, though. could set a loan + option to buy for X price if a player's good enough, was good enough for PSG when they bought mbappe!

What you’re saying is who we have in the squad. That is different from saying we don’t need it
 
even if PSG were CL favorites, so what? we are not the rags who only buy players because they fear of their opponents getting stronger.
 
Any team facing us knows to attack the left side really so a lb would be welcome. No matter how good zinchenko is, how better he is getting he does lose concentration and lose his player, it’s still a weakness. That teams exploit.

Fernandinho's legs are gone. Whether you like it or not, he's not of much use to us this season on pitch, except as a key figure for the dressing room for another year, making sure everything is stable. But recruitment has to be done early in that area, the fixtures are tight, season is long. What If Rodri gets injured? You're telling me Ferna is capable of covering 30-35 games even?

If Rodri does his ACL playing for Spain next week our season is over. Fernandinho might play 1 game in 3 this season, and Gundogan at 6 for 9 months wouldn't be something I want to see.

That's a bad situation to be in at any position.

Being favorites makes them even more likely to crumble under the weight of the expectation... like they always do

Correct, because Pep wants different things from a left back. So for us Zincheko and Cancelo are better left backs than Mendes. Which is why we aren’t at the moment looking for a new left back, and not getting Mendes will not impact our season. Amazed how may can’t see that Zinchenko and Cancelo are our left backs for a reason.
