Grealish has been looking good. Obviously, disappointments abound. It is good to have kept Bernardo and Laporte. I think they will get their minutes. It is unreasonable to expect little injury from Dias and Stones, having played so many last season. De Bruyne is already going through a stretch of injuries again, so Bernardo will be heavily used.

It is what it is mate. Looking at our transfer history, we'd rather go without & wait for the right option to become available, rather than panic buy a player not up to the standards we've set ourselves & be lumbered with a depreciating asset on huge wages.

This policy has caused small peaks & troughs over the seasons, but since 2012 it's served us better than any other English club in the professional leagues.

We're all pissed about the Kane scenario, but realistically who else on Kane's level was available? We know we need a LB, but no one could have predicted what's just happened to Mendy, & seeing as he's been mostly injured & in poor form since being here, it's not as if we'll be any worse off this season will we?

Grealish adds to the strength of our squad & provides additional midfoeld & forward cover, we'll never know if Torres can be the main striking solution we need unless he's given the opportunity to prove himself. Jesus can operate as a No 9, or on either wing & has been a revelation on the right this season so far, so we have similar striking options to last season.

We've taken the gamble that Fern has another season as a top CDM left in him. I reckon he'll see us through as long as we don't rinse him. Injuries can throw all of that into disarray, but it also gives Rodri the opportunity to properly establish himself as our undisputed No 1 CDM.

Essentially, our failure to get Kane, a new LB & to sign a replacement for Fern gives opportunities to several players in our squad who were pissed off with mostly starting our biggest matches on the bench.

I really feel they'll step up to prove to the club that even more solutions to our squad issues can be found right under our nose & in our academy. Perhaps this situation is what was needed to stop Pep from sometimes acting like a child in a sweet shop because he's so spoilt for choice.

Now Pep will have to play the best players available, & take rest & rotation into account for the sake of rest & rotation, & not just because he wants to experiment with an abundance of options in crucial matches.

Funnily enough, this season could could be the making of our club & squad for years to come.... )(
Hopefully fella.

He failed to track Kai's dribble. I like zinchenko. He is not a LB but tries his best. We need a serious LB in the club.

Same with DM. Fern legs are gone. We only have rodri, an injury to rodri and our season goes to waste. We should have invested in LB and DM if striker was unavailable. We should have gone after Nuno and bissouma
The goal came from their left where we were wide open. Havertz made a great run from inside right inbetween Dias and Zinchenko. The criticism you attached was unfair on the overall performance, higher profile players were worse on the day.

Does this mean that we have won the most coveted trophy…Net spend Cup. Here we go!

Out:
Sane £55m
Sales £60m

In:
Jack £100m

Winners ;)

The defensive midfielder was really bad in the first half!

I have a feeling Pep will reinvent Foden as a striker. I'd say he's a better finisher than the other candidates.
Was looking today at Jimmy Greaves who really knew how to finish. Seems he was only 5 ft 8ins tall so perhaps an obsession with tall physical strikers is wrong but for some reason Pep cannot get our front players to be as deadly as he would like.

That's because they are not Stricker's.

We most definitely don't need a DM (for now at least). Rodri is excellent and Fernandinho is a more than capable back up. We're not going to sign another one and have 3 players for that one position.

We will need one next Summer though when Fernandinho leaves.
We have romeo lavia, watch out for this kid,hes the bollocks

One injury to rodri and we will spend the entire season fighting for top 4.
Yea really makes you wonder that the club were thinking. Especially since Mendy been arrested 4 times in a year you would think they would have planned for that as well. Very very terrible planing by the club. And if January comes and we need someone expect the prices to be sky high. Idk I hope I am wrong but we will definitely struggle in the CL group but we should be fine for top4

To be fair he seems to love playing for this club and in this side, it's just our location that is the issue.

Hopefully if covid lessens, he will be able to take breaks back home, which should help him and all our other non UK players.
Saw someone mention something I hadn't thought about re him being subbed off and looking emotional on Saturday (if that was what it was and not him just itching/wiping sweat).

Pep was asked in his presser the other week about Bernardo wanting to leave and openly admitted to him wanting out. If I was in Bernardo's position there I might be worried about fans turning on me, instead he got a really good reception as he came off, could've had something to do with it?

Although that quote from pep was at the start of the season and he played at home against Norwich, although wasn't subbed off.. idk
