I also think that talented attacking players tend to get snapped up very quickly. They're hot property. It's why KDB went Chelsea > Wolfsburg > City in such a short space of time. Again it's not a hard and fast rule, but it tends to be the case with attacking and flair players that the best ones are bought pretty quickly by a CL club.

Then he had 3 exceptional years in the PL with Southampton. Grealish has had one.

Grealish was playing in the Championship 2 years ago so I wouldn't be so dismissive of SPL and Champions League football.

Have I said Grealish is pony? No! Grealish is a fantastic player.

All I said is you could easily argue van Dijk had had several years of excellence, while you can only point to about 12-18 months for Grealish.

I've got good cause for liking myself as I'm sure you do too. It hasn't always been the case for me even if that's always been the impression.

I don't think City have ever done anything other than watch Grealish the way they watch all talented English players. Even currently, City are watching Grealish. Not signing him. That might change if suddenly we sell a couple of forwards, but that feels very unlikely as the priority is to get a 9.

And Sterling can sometimes run fast.

And Grealish can sometimes, actually quite a lot of times, fall over.

I don’t think we should look down on players from the championship, there are some gems there for low price, Robertson was at hull and relegated and now is easily one of the top LBs in football. Maddison has shown his quality, Watkins for villa has scored a lot for Villa this season.
Buendia is another quality player from the championship. I liked the look of Pereira from west brom last season as well.

Grealish would comfortably start for us. On current form, he is miles ahead of Bernardo, Sterling, Jesus and Mahrez. He is probably also ahead of Gundogan on recent form.

Grealish has performed consistently for the last few seasons. The same cannot be said about any of the players listed above. Bernardo, for example, had one outstanding season, surrounded by very poor or mediocre seasons.

The idea that he would be a bench player is completely absurd.

I do think there's a bit of a big disconnect when people are arguing that not just Sterling, but Mahrez and Bernardo too, are all inferior to him. I understand the Sterling agenda is basically a meme at this point on Bluemoon, but when you throw Mahrez and Bernardo in it becomes quite surreal.
