how do these players pass their medicals ? he spent his short everton career on the physios table. santa cruz turned up for his on a fookin stretcher. something very wrong somewhere.

I think it's more a case of knowing full well his current injury problems, but taking the risk that he will grow out of them and develop into a great young player. If there is a squad that can afford to suffer the loss it's ours.

Why spent 12m on someone with such a devastating injury record though?

he very talented

who needs michael johnson when weve got jack rodwell.

What a pathetic comment that is.

Rodwell has shown so much desire he leaves Johnson in the shade

He is a young kid who is still growing and im sure the medicals they pass are very very stringent

Hamstring injuries are not the end of the world.

What the fuck has Santa Cruz got to do with Rodwell?

I hope it's just a tweak, it's not that uncommon after a long lay-off.

It looked more like taking him off as a precaution rather than anything hugely serious.

Serious questions need to be asked about why a player, however talented he may appear, with such a horrendous injury record was allowed to be bought for such a high fee.

It didn't look too bad. he walked off unaided.

Very sorry for the lad but at least he was part of a winning team.

Looked understandably upset and I worry how a player can cope with the psychological stress that such injuries bring. Hope he returns when fully ready.

Why? It's not your money so why you moaning about it? sometimes you have to take a gamble on a player. Gerrard was injured a lot when he was younger should Liverpool have written him off? Van Persie before this season had an awful injury record should the rags have spent all that money on him?
