Is it usual to have a private trainer outside the club? Why has McAtee got this "trainer" posting stuff about him and telling Pep what to do?
Is he someone who coached McAtee at a junior level or is he still involved with him?
This type of pushiness is more likely to result in him being likely to play - needs to let his football do the talking.

I’m not worked up about it, I just think it’s inappropriate. It’s just someone McAtee has hired for private coaching to work on his finishing, and he’s posted on Twitter that he hopes McAtee plays on Friday. Really not something worth getting worked up about.

I know you didn’t reply to me, but I might have started that convo.
Yeah a little bit, a tad unprofessional. You think it’s inappropriate for a guy who privately coaches McAtee to post on Twitter that he hopes McAtee plays on Friday?
There’s more to that story, McAtee himself always wanted to be at city and that’s why after his brother was released from united he was very quick to jump to us.I’m not sure if McAtee is committed to City, I thought I read somewhere his family would have preferred him to go to the other lot but the City Academy was better. There was a transfer rumour that Untied or the Dippers were interested a while back
Some of you lot on here talk so much nonsense. He’s a trainer who McAtee hires for extra coaching sessions outside of City, he is also a City fan like the rest of us. He’s posting these clips because it’s his own ‘business’ as such and he’s promoting it. And he’s “telling pep what to do” as you put it because he’s a City fan.Why has McAtee got this "trainer" posting stuff about him and telling Pep what to do?

Nowadays, yes.Is it usual to have a private trainer outside the club?
Loads of them have extra training via private coaches. Here's one of the most 'famous' ones who's used by Nike and helps to train sportsmen from a range of disciplines. He's done stuff with Foden and Grealish. Is it usual to have a private trainer outside the club?
Nowadays, yes.
Alfie Harrison had a 1 on 1 coach from around 12 years old at least. Foden has his own sprint coach (or did) and I think it was Walker who recommended him (I might have imagined the last bit).
IF Pep see this tweet, he will ensure Mcatee stays on the stand.
Yes, not that I've seen him for a couple of years now :(Alfie Harrison is supposed to be very talented isn’t he? I’ve only seen a few clips of him but they were very impressive.

Personally I wasn't implying anything. I was genuinely asking whether it was normal to have a non-club coach. I would have thought that player conditioning and development is such a fine art that clubs would want players' training to only take place wheb supervised by the club.God knows some of the shite I'd be posting on twitter if I worked with some of our academy lads.
Nowt wrong with being a bit over eager to see some of the young lads play, especially if you've been directly working with them and getting to know them as people.
And I'm not sure why they've implied that this guy has been posting on McAtee's behalf.
So if Pep saw a tweet from someone not affiliated with the club saying that he hopes McAtee starts on Friday he would drop McAtee altogether? Why? He continued to pick Mendy after he was arrested multiple times on suspicion of rape but this is where he draws the line?!
