James McAtee

FFS. These young kids coming into the first team and thinking they own the place. What about the oldies? Where's the respect, heh? FFS Mahrez is probably wondering WTF will happen with these whippersnapers at his heals. I'm telling you it's just not cricket!

Brilliant news. Happy to see another young talent trusting the process.

I bet you said the same about Foden and Palmer.

This is great news. The more of these young lads we can tie down to long-term deals, the better, provided they have the talent, of course.
With Foden- I honestly didn't. His talent was just that obvious even in his hand full of cameos in 17/18. Admittedly, I probably haven't seen enough of Mcatee play to say a loan would be smarter or not. Fingers crossed!

James McAtee believes there is much more to come in terms of his development at Manchester City in the wake of signing his new contract extension.

MEN'S TEAM

James McAtee pens new deal

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder put pen to paper on a new three-year deal today that will extend his stay at the Club through to 2026.
One of the most highly regarded players to have emerged from our Academy over the past few years, McAtee made his senior City debut in September of last year in our 6-1 Carabao Cup win at home to Wycombe.
I saw a lot of Foden before he became a regular first team, and in the intervening period I would say he is now twice the player he was. I think Palmer and McAtee will do the same. All three are highly skilled lads and will only get better.

Over the moon

So happy

Thanks to whoever convinced him to stay

Hopefully he will get more minutes and shine now.

I trust the club's judgement that the player could be good enough to step up at some point, and the player's judgement that training with the senior team is the best place for his own development.

I've said before that one of the worst things about being shit was watching players like Shawny leave knowing it was the right thing for them.

Watching us win the league with lifelong blues and academy talent from across Manchester (and beyond) over the next ten years will be more special than what we have done the last ten years imo.

Great news. Highly promising by all accounts. A new team is emerging before our very eyes. McAtee, Palmer, Foden, Delap, Alvarez, and more youngsters to come. Doyle, H-Bellis still around.
What price Pep wants to stay and see them through? Pep, you know you want to. Just sign!!

With regards to SWP, it was the right move for him financially and medal wise, but the wrong move for footballing reasons
He was only bought by Chelsea so that Arsenal didn't get him and he lost his England place and his game totally stagnated
