Jarrad Branthwaite

And Everton bring the ball out of the back, so if you are saying he can not adapt at the age of 23 fair enough, otherwise your post is shite.
I'm giving you the facts, your the one talking shite.

23 is old enough to know if a professional footballer can pass the ball well.

He is a poor passer, why on earth would any City fan want him when he is so antithetical to our style is beyond me.

Because he plays for Everton and is apparently the new stones ( because he plays for Everton)

Most of that is right, we used 3 midfielders in the fullback positions, we have 3 CB`s under performing that spent most of the season out injured, we bought 3 CB in January all right footed and inexperienced, so next season we hope to play 60 plus games with 2 fit and experienced CB`s.
Bringing in Branthwaite sends a message to our failing CB`s that game time is going to be limited, so there is more chance of one moving on, it also gives time for the youngsters to grow.
Understand you see priorities else where, but last season every team targeted our left side of defense, our biggest failing, and most were proved right, to the point that most will continue.

You’re absolutely right that teams targeted the left side of our defence, and that’s a problem that needs addressing.

But my solution would be to sign an actual left back (something the club seeks to have a real blind spot over) rather than signing another left footed centre back - when we already have one of the best young left footed CB’s in the world in our team.

A player we insist on playing out of position at left back, which only exacerbates our problems on that side of the pitch.

It’s no coincidence we started to look a lot tighter at the back when Gvardiol moved back inside.

That’s the solution for me - play Gvardiol in his best position, and bring in an actual left back - not buy another left footed centre back when we’ve got one of the best in the world already.

Braithwaite needs to be dias replacement in the long term seeing as ake stones and akanji will also be leaving over the next year I'd hope this lad is top of the list to come in.
Braithwaite
Gvardiol
Khusanov

Would give us 3 cbs for the next 8-10 years
Why do you think Akanji is leaving? Like a lot of of our defence I suspect he played a number of games last season when he was nof fully fit which had a big impact on his form. When he is fit I think he is a decent defender.

Good player but I would say that this was a priority for us at present.

If we havnt of bought Reis and Khusonov especially then I could see it but considering we have those two then I dont see where he fits in.....

No he isn't, coming from someone who has watched him week in and week out. You are not taking into consideration Dyches tactics, he had no intention of allowing defenders to play out from the back.

He is actually comfortable passing with both feet.

Im sure other fans of ours on here such as @shackattack @Toffeedude will agree.

Concentration levels are awful constantly gets caught on the ball. I don't think he will leave this season ( unless we receive a good offer) but I see him leaving next summer as the rebuild finishes.

I think his performances since he signed have on the whole been good apart from last season when he was blighted by injury. Not so sure he will leave next Summer, his versatility is a plus point with Pep.

He's definitely playing differently under Moyes to how he did under Dyche, which is probably no surprise. He's carrying the ball out more and playing more progressive passes. Before, he only had to bother about defending.

While this is promising, it doesn't mean he's good enough at it for City. Or that he isn't, to be fair. However, the way he's playing now is more
Maguire under Ten Hag, than Stones under Pep. In fact, Maguire's stats look more impressive, and we wouldn't want him, so....

It's a big ask to go from doing what Branthwaite currently does to what Stones does (when he plays). A huge ask in fact. Which is probably why Pep seems more keen to keep the defenders he knows, or to integrate players younger and cheaper than Branthwaite would be.

The guy nearly cost us in the Champions League final if it wasn't for Ederson saving him.

6'5 English left footed centre backs don't just come along once a year or something. I think a lot of people miss the point here

When a player has these sort of physical qualities, their ceiling is much higher than ones that don't

This transfer wouldn't exactly be about the player he is currently, but rather the player he could be molded into

Definitely worth a punt.

He could be the next John Stones in the future under Peps guidance.
