Javi Garcia (continued)

Listen he is fairly limited and i am sure the club know that, but lets support him while he is here. I am certain the good looking bastad earning 60k a week + is devastated that a few people think he is average as he fights for 4 trophies and is no doubt shagging some miss world lookalike in his cheshire mansion and experinecing anotehr culture for a few years.

The great thing about this incredible city team is we are amazing even with a few weak links - i.e new left back, new centre half and one more midfielder to help ya ya and fernandinio. With 3 good signings (which will happen) we wil be even better next season - just enjoy it

ps would anyone swap him for cleverly? i wouldnt.

I think Javi is looking better, stronger and more confident with every game he plays, this constant shit he keeps getting pisses me off GET OFF THE KIDS BACK ! okay he doesn't do the most glamourous job in the side but he go's about his job and if he wasn't Pell wouldn't keep throwing him into battle.Contrary to what the Garcia bashers would have us believe HE ISN'T TO BLAME FOR EVERY GOAL WE ARE CONCEDING players of much higher standing within the side are in the frame for that.

I have been so critical of Garcia, he slows play down, he's so one dimensional and he never comes across as the kind of player who cares. However, yesterday and to a lesser degree against Blackburn, he really played well. He should have won MOTM yesterday because his work allowed Yaya to move forward, he covered for both full backs when they went forward, he kept it simple and won some very important tackles. He showed grit and determination and fully deserved his place in the side. Well done Javi.

a lot of football is not when you have the ball its what you do when you have,nt, which he does well he played well yesterday closing down space, if all our players just rampaged up front we would concede a lot more goals. imo

Correct. Demichelis take note.

-- Sun Jan 19, 2014 2:06 pm --

Thought he had a decent game yesterday. Very clever of our manager to pick him in games like this. Yes he is not like Ferna who covers our left back when he is driving forward and is far more mobile and clearly a better player. But Garcia did ok. Let's consider if the previous management were still at City some players like Javi, Kolarov and Dzeko would now have been sold on at high losses. What Manuel has done is he has involved the whole squad so that our fringe players are now eyed with envy by other teams - thus keeping their value higher. I was a little worried by us always buying players at such high values only to move them on by subsidising wages etc. And it is not even my money! Credit to our Manager for keeping the squad happy and focused on all competitions.

I didn't see or hear the game yesterday as I was helping a mate move house.

He isn't sh*t but I don't think Pellegrini would have bought him. I think Pellegrini is making the most of him to give others a rest.

We have to just get behind him and appreciate that Fernandinho is a better player by far but can't be expected to play in every Premiership, Capital One Cup, FA Cup and Champions League game during the course of the season. He'll get injured or jaded. Garcia can also stand in for others though again he's not the guy you would automatically chose as their replacement. He's probably best seen as an 'odd job' man, 'Jack of all trades and master of none'.

He's perfectly adequate for these types of games at home to Cardiff and at home to 80% of the Premiership games and that's how he's being used. He was thrown on away to Bayern as that was seen as a 'dead rubber' where we had nothing to gain or lose.

I don't think he'll get much of a look in though away to the Arse, home to Chelsea, home or away to Barca, away to the scousers or the 'rags' or even next week away to the 'spuds'. Those are the game the prime choice players are being rested for.

He's a useful asset to the squad - but probably not somebody Pellegrini would have gone out himself and bought if he had had £16 million to spend on a sweeper/holding midfielder.

Garcia puts a shift in every week, very good in the air, keeps his passing simple for the other flair players. I would be his pass completion is one of the highest in the league. He breaks up a lot of play. But some on here always have to have a boo boy, just because he doesn't go on rampaging runs like YaYa. His job is to protect the back 4. Both their goals yesterday came from other players switching off.

I'd be happy him holding with Fernandinho and Yaya in front of him against Barca

There is a bloke behind me who boos or berates Garcia every chance he gets. When he came on as a sub the other week he booed as loud as he could.

Made sure he knew i thought he was a dickhead for booing any city player. He now talks constant crap about Garcia.

Yesterday he made a sideways pass to silva as he had no other real option, the bloke shouted why did he not go forward. We still had possession so what is the problem.

I know some fans dont have a clue and want to play the John Beck style of football but those days have long gone

There's a large majority of blokes on here that have never played or been involved in football, but think they know everything !!
