Can't agree with some of the ranting going on here. Thought Garcia had a reasonably good game. Problem is, he has the same deficiencies as Barry, and we only got a semblance of a grip on proceedings once we switched to 3-5-2. Whatever, a 6 out of 10 performance from the team as a whole and I'd probably give Garcia the same score as an individual. Liverpool were better than us, simple as that

We need a driver in the middle and I'd be inclined to pitch Zabaleta in with YaYa and play Maicon at right back for a few games. Too many lateral or backward passes in centre midfield.

De Jong was awesome at what he did, one of the best, but we no longer needed a player that did what he did. We needed more of an all-round midfielder, Garcia is that.

He's not as good in the tackle as Nige, nor is he as quick across the ground, but his forward play is better and I think he's a more intelligent player.

People write off new signings far too quickly, Garcia will continue to improve and will, in my opinion, be the replacement for Barry as he ages.

Garcia will be the backbone of the team for seasons to come for my money. This time next year he'll be the New Lucas maybe even New Makelele I predict (albeit ambitiously).

We are a much much better team with him in it.

As much as I think you're wrong, I really hope you're right.

Silva did not have a good game I agree but mate Garcia was shit today.He was outpaced,out muscled,out smarted and out placed in all aspects of the game.And didn't do us much favors by loosing the ball on the edge of the box for the first goal.
