I will be astonished if we are not looking for a replacement this month, if Fernandinho or Yaya gets injured are we really going to rely on him?

Not good enough even for a back up!

On his best day where the rest of the team are performing tricks he is OK. But when you are up against it, everything is one paced, never out of first gear, and he patrols an area that is critical.

I just don't seem him good enough for our squad mate, he looks like he is chasing shadows when he has to defend and in attack he very rarely if ever passes forward.

If Yaya or Fernandinho get injured or suspended for a big big game we are done for!!

I would look to upgrade this month if we can!

Although it's always fun to blame Garcia, he was definetly no worse than most on display today. the entire team was giving it away for fun and even the supposed "creative" players looked completely unthreatening. Playing him alongside two fullbacks that offer absolutely no attacking threat seems like an obvious mistake, puts far too much pressure on the front 5 to do everything themselves (although I'd blame the fullbacks more for that, as they are really supposed to be offering attacking support)
Post match thread is a separate one altogether.

This is to discuss the players individual performance, deflecting away from it says a lot.
That was about his play, obviously in the context of the match and team. I apologise that I actually linked my opinions to something rather than just a random statement slagging him off
He was very poor today.

He was walked past virtually every time he was taken on by a player. To attempt to mask his ineptitude by saying "everyone was poor" is in itself poor.

You're effectively slagging off the rest of the team and the manager with your reluctance to acknowledge Garcia's poor play, I hope the irony isn't lost on you.

And out of those passes how many did he play a team mate in to trouble? Kept on passing it to boyata (who had a poor game) while surrounded by players. Garcia is a shithouse.

^^This 100%^^

Isn't that kind of the point though? Garcia is fine receiving the ball under pressure and moving it on but the full backs aren't. He's a Spanish footballer. Their whole philosophy is based around being able to get it under and move it on.

It's frankly ridiculous that you would come out of that game and blame him for that result. Absolutely everything Blackburn did came down the wings, and he kept things ticking over when on the ball. But somehow he gets the blame for the likes of Boyata being unable to trap it at the first time of asking.
The issue is a lot of the time Garcia isn't under pressure. His ability to unlock the opposition defence is shocking so he has no option but to make short passes or sideways passes. He is slow in possession and plays others in to trouble. If he could redeem himself defensively then I would cut him some slack but the opposition just play the ball around him as if he wasn't there. It happens time and again week in week out. He is nothing but a passenger and I don't see how anyone can disagree. Should have sent him to everton and kept gareth Barry who is ten times the player.

I can only remember one error Garcia made, the only criticism I have of him as a player is his confidence on the ball, he doesn't have that confidence at the moment to be a midfielder and play the ball forwards or do anything other than distribute to someone else. Other than that, I really don't see what he has done wrong. Nasty and Lescott were all over the place today, Pants had a dodgy game and really should of conceded a penalty or even sent off. It's really unfair to blame someone who although hasn't contributed much, didn't do much wrong. Silva was also shite today, Negredo I thought looked tired and couldn't do much... It was a poor performance across the board really as a team.

Your stream must have been even more laggy than mine.

If Yaya/Ferna get injured, were fucked. This guy is 3rd choice in our central midfield, that is depressing.
That's the problem. I was stressing during the game hoping that nothing happened to Fernan, then Yaya came on and I had the same thoughts. We can't rely upon Rodwell and comparing Javi to Fernan and Yaya is like comparing a model T Ford to a Ferrari.

This is urgent. We HAVE to find a backup for Fernan and Yaya. We are one injury away from disaster.

That's not really true. You can acknowledge a player having a bad game while also accepting the whole team was playing levels below it should be.

Otherwise we could all just flood into the Silva thread and drone on about how awful he was.

Not to difficult to nothing wrong ever if you never try anything more complex than the easiest pass at all times. For man city in a 4 man midfield, that has a clear negative effect, he works better in a 5 when he can just sit in his own half and feed it to ferna or Yaya, but when he has to make the play, he's colossally sub-standard.
