Personally, I think he's a top CDM, he plays perfectly well on the Spanish squad and he does well for City when he's given the time to do it.

He's played 2 friendlies for Spain, usually when there were injuries, and I've seen them and don't think he played "perfectly well". In fact he was an absolute liability along with Albiol against Chile and taken off when Spain were 2-1 down. The Chileans had run past him with the same ease Premier League stars do. The player who is at Cardiff now, Medel, played in the same game and was 2x better.

Aside from Kolarov, he's my dad's least favourite player on the squad.

Problem is, as a lot of others have said, he's not used to the pace of the PL, but within a couple of seasons he'll find his groove and become a vital part of the team.

I think another problem is that Garcia is very good at what he does, it's just that what he does isn't to everyone's taste. There's not much anyone can do about that.

I'd take him over Barry any day.

One of out better players today. Did we pay too much for him? Yes. Is he good enough for where we want to be? No. He's not a bad player and does a lot of the work that people don't notice. He's not as bad as some people make out.

Was watching closely today and he was very poor, his passing was woeful and kept giving the ball away which is usually the best part of his very limited game.

He had a 92% pass completion rate today. He made 78 successful passes and 6 unsuccessful ones (that either didn't reach the target or went out of play).

You should watch a bit closer.

Or the bloke who does the stats shouldn't keep going out off his cups of tea:) surprised at those stats TBF I suppose its natural that when the team is playing so poorly you tend to focus on mistakes more than the positive.

Thats easy when the passes only go backwards or to the side n hardly ever forward to drive the team on

He did his job
Exactly. He did his job and by and large did it effectively. He's never going to be the most spectacular player on the park and he's certainly no better than Gareth Barry but he's there to do a specific job.

but what i find odd is the games he is brought in to do this specific job, Stoke, Sunderland, Cardiff, today, we aren't beating much lesser teams, ok they were away games but Palace at home we score lowest amount of goals ? it is a huge huge minus to have him in the team i dont care if he even does what he does well as some say cos what he does is fuck all and we lose 25% of our chance of creating or scoring a goal with him on the park, Why do we need a player like him ? i dont even want him as a squad player as i never want to see i City line up with him in it

So a lot of today's comments are unsupported and actually disproven? That's traditional for this thread.

73.8% (318) of his passes this season have been forwarded passes, of which 21 have been long balls that travelled over 30 metres. He completed 19 of those 21.

His average pass length is 18 metres.
