Makes me laugh that this thread rumbles on, the guy is utter wank.

Up there with Daley, Badbuy and Vuoso as one of our worst vfm buys in City history.

Ah, yes, but what about whoscored.com ? Statistics never lie

I just really hope this isn't sarcasm. Numbers don't lie, interpretations differ. But just because you don't see it doesn't mean it isn't there.

Ah the old bring up some really really poor buys to justify an argument post.

I bet you didnt rate Jaime Pollock

Que?

What the fuck has that got to do with Garcia being shite?

Knew it wouldn't be long before you rocked up, do you still think he's a really good player.....

Jaime was class, but probs a bit past it now

Javi has time to grow in stature and Pelle's brave new world is ideal for him

Why do you keep making the same point over and over? You think some blues always have to have someone to hate...we get it and its probably true for a small proportion of fans but for the majority they just have an opinion about players and you really don't need to get on your high horse every time. Try having an opinion yourself and say why you like him rather than just that he wears a blue shirt so we all have to.

Just for the record the last player I thought was a waste of space was RSC so I certainly don't want someone to dislike. I want City to win trophies and our players to be successful.

It's nothing to do with loyalty. If City decided to put a five year old in goal would you continue to shout at posters who though it was a bad idea?

If you don't like the debate move on rather than trying to shut it down by telling people it's not allowed. You will notice there are some Garcia supporters here who at least point to what they believe his merits are....you might want to try it.

I'm a huge fan of stats as my posts will testify but I'm afraid they can and do lie. Football isn't baseball and moneyball does not work for our game. City are at the forefront of this field but simplistic facts such as the number of clearances in a game are virtually useless without a context. A managers win percentage that Sky like so much for example is the the daftest stat of all.

Soccernomics is a good read and ClubElo is a fantastic site.

He's not as bad as some might say.
He was grand a Benfica.
I'm not a Javi hater, he's not a top.top player but he doesn't deserve the hate.[

If a poster prefers player A over player B does that make player B hated? Nobody is booing him...but if they are then obviously it won't help.

My point was that the numbers are irrefutable but whatever is built on them can be deceptive i agree. But in weighted comparisons against all our other defenders (who you'd imagine where subject to the same conditions) he's performing well.

I am trusting whoever reads those stats to apply their own context. I offered my own interpretation while FI settled for "he's wank". Different styles of debate eh.

Re: Javi Garcia (merged)

Think the main problem with him being CB, is it is a specialised position. He is playing alongside a 20 year old CB , who
although very good for his age is a mere novice. Who is calling the lines etc, I think this is where the problem lies.
Neither knows what the other is doing or supposed to be doing. Javier is too busy making sure his game is right, he
doesn't have the time or where with all to help out Nastasic.

That's why our defence is so hit and miss or sometimes all over the fucking place. But it's not Garcia's fault.
He's no more a centre back than I.

Re: Javi Garcia (merged)

Should never have let Kolo go, decent right sided back up to Mr Fragile, Garcia can only play a role where he doesn't have to run or pass much apart from these flaws and his terrible positional sense he's a fine addition to the squad.
