Should never have let Kolo go, decent right sided back up to Mr Fragile, Garcia can only play a role where he doesn't have to run or pass much apart from these flaws and his terrible positional sense he's a fine addition to the squad.

Kolo wasn't of the standard required either,so letting him go was the right decision from the perspective that he should have been replaced by a superior alternative.
The problem is,he wasn't.......... So in hindsight,i agree,he would have been an infinitely better option than Garcia.

Regardless of the fact he wears our shirt, its baffling that certain supporters cannot recognise such a poor player and understand the negative effect he has on those around him and subsequently the game itself.

He will be an awful choice should he get the nod on Sunday,a lamb to the slaughter, hence why I cant see it happening.

Re: Javi Garcia (merged)

More worried by Nasty at the moment. He is our permanent CB and he is making as many mistakes as Garcia and I have lost count of the needless free kicks in dangerous areas he has given away. Zab was mainly to blame for the goal on Wednesday also.

Would this also question Pellegrini's ability as a manager. After all if certain fans can see the obvious why cant he?

Whats more bafflng is Pellegrini sees him every day and still cant see what is obvious to our knowledgeable supporters.

Truly baffling

Watch the game again please.

Won't change the score ... ;)

Seriously, why do people get so het up about our fourth/fifth choice centre half. I'm beginning to feel sorry for Garcia because it's plain no matter how well he does or the team does while he's playing, some still need to slag him off at every opportunity! (that's not aimed specifically at you hg btw! your at least subtle!)

Our first choice cb is world class but is picking up injuries. Our second choice cb is young and struggling imo. Our third choice cb is too limited a footballer to fit into Pelle's chosen system and is out of favour. Our fourth choice cb hasn't kicked a ball yet. And then there's Garcia. Might have been a good idea to sign a quality cb in the transfer window eh? I'm surprised nobody mentioned it tbh ;).

Re: Javi Garcia (merged)

absolutely spot on............been saying this all season. A top top CB to play along side/cover for Kompany and nobody would touch us in the prem.......but for the richest football club in the world to be relying an average midfielder at best to cover CB, especially when Mica is now available well, its beyond me...........

Couldn't agree more internet managers never see them train, not aware of injuries, never get beat, always pick the best team buy the best players, all from their bedrooms truly amazing

If Garcia is showing as our best option then either our depth of quality is worse than I thought or the player himself suffers something akin to a TIA every time he takes to the field.

Or we've got some very vocal critics who fail to recognise some very basic points:

Left-sided Centre-backs: Nasty and Lescott
Right-sided Centre-backs: Kompany and Demichelis

Yes you could play Lescott and Nasty, but that presents its own problems

Micah is the other option, but City's defence is no longer the clear your lines operation it once was. Can Richards be a footballing centre-half?

Garcia has done well at centre-back in recent weeks. He's made the odd mistake, and he's not as good as Kompany and Lescott (on the left side).

Playing a 3rd choice centre-back is our weak link which is why the desperate rags chip away at him constantly, and sadly some blues join in.

No point in stating the obvious Fantasy...the Manager is always right in all circumstances apparently. When we sell Garcia he will be right to do that as well . You must always agree with what they do as they know best in all circumstances. Remember Pearce playing David James as centre forward? He was right too. Remember Alan Ball...genius. You must always support the Manager as it is disloyal if you don't . We and the rest of the World (including two champions league winning centre halves) know nowt. It's all a mirage...he's great.

If he plays and we beat Chelsea ill have to wonder if we we were right though :-)

Re: Javi Garcia (merged)

The only reason he is playing is because pelle does not want to play 2 left footers at CB. Im pretty sure that is the reason.
